Not a whole ton of pictures, but a few good ones, was great to get away and into the backwoods for a few days. Drove through a huge storm on the way up around Madison at like 3am, and there was a small tornado in the town we were staying in that night, knocked down a huge stand of pine trees.

We went out fishing for ~10 - 12 hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The guide we went with thought fishing overall was pretty lousy, but we still managed to do better in three days than we did in six in Minnesota last year.

Some of the pictures are quite big so Im just going to link with descriptions rather than have them all load....

Sunset over one of the lakes

Stormfront moving in over the lake as we were fishing
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

Picture across one of the lakes, not a soul in sight...

Loons, so much cooler than ducks
Pic 1, Pic 2, Pic 3

Some pics of a Golden Eagle we caught as it dove for fish
Flying 1, Flying 2 (poor qual), Grabbing a fish

Largemouth Bass
Much larger bass (~4 - 4.5 lb)
Muskie, I was pleased with it, the guide thought it was "small" (~15 lb), and it fucked my fingers up

This is specially for Luin
Cool pics.  That must've been a lot of fun.
I KNEW IT

BLACK CRAPPIE
Looks nice, though fishing isn't my thing  :-X

3) The guide called it small, I thought it was respectable
5) My hair is short, I dont know what you are talking about, need lots of pockets to carry the camera, glasses case, etc. :\

Id go back up there with the guide on a weekend thing and do nothing but Muskie, my Dad also got a 5 lb Walley....while we were going after muskie, why it bit that enormous lure I'll never know.

cargo pants are like wearing baggy jeans without looking like a douchebag
Gotta watch them gill plates, caff Tongue  There's a reason I always pack my leather gloves.  And 15 is pretty small.  But keep in mind that there's not many big ones.  Hard for them to survive to that size.  I've seen some 50+ inchers in the lakes here in the city.  But be glad you caught one at all.  I've fished for them for years and never got one Tongue  Always get Northern instead.
This thread makes me sad, because my customers are fucking morans.

Glad you had fun though.
I fucking love cargo pants. Personally I find them rugged and also attractive, pretty much everything that I own pant and short wise is cargo, with the exception of my jeans and my "work" pants/shorts
I know right? Caff's fishing trip looked awesome! I can't believe how awesome the trip was and how much more awesome it was than cargo pants. Btw, Nice glasses.

brb....fishing?

[me=Kirby]needs to go get his f.license[/me]

Also I'd like to point out all our good fishing lakes also have loons.

p.much everything has loons if it's not Portland, or Biddeford...or Saco...or Bang......forget it.
Loons are awesome. Last year, my parents and HeK's parents all got together at his family cabin at the lake. We went out on the lake for the evening and near the end we saw a small group of loons. They all took turns swimming under our boat and calling out nice and loud. It was quite the trip... we also saw a bald eagle or two and a buck posing majestically at the top of a waterfall. Seriously.

I demand we have a great big BRB fishing trip 2010 Tongue

Possibly at HeK's cabin, his family permitting? Room for many people there.
