I know it's nothing new to the fps genre, but I think it plays very well in TF2. The entire layout, the Team class screen at the beginning, everything about it encourages solid teamwork.

I only played a few rounds, but I know I will be playing many, many more.
<3 Lumberyard, and all the other maps are great too.
I agree. It is definitely my favourite game mode as it fits my playstyle perfectly.

Today was the first time that my heart beat as fast in TF2 as it would when I play CSS or Quake; being a spy and the last guy alive on your team going against the entire opposing team is probably the most fun and intense experience I've ever had in TF2.

New dynamic: 

.. wait, I mean the rebirth of an old dynamic that I've forgotten since the servers don't usually have Sudden Death:

"Who's Left Alive":  You know you saw a Spy, the "enemies alive" counter says 2, you blast a Soldier... "Watch out, there's a Spy left alive."

And, oh, yes, I think the number of wins should be decreased from 5 to 3 before scrambling occurs.
I'm a little on the fence. I've never been a fan of being out for the round when you die (main reason why I stopped playing Counter Strike), but I like how the center point mechanic discourages people from just hiding and running away.
I liked Arena a lot but hate sitting out for a round.  It's quick enough that it's fine waiting after dieing but then having to wait again because your team lost takes the fun out of it over time.

I'd like to play this for tournaments and server seeding times.
I didn't like CS because I didn't think that sitting out was conducive to learning how to play :/ If you suck, you spend more time dead than alive, and it takes all the fun out of it. I haven't had a chance to play Arena yet, though, so we'll see.

Yea..I played that series of Lumberyard with Loq last night and it was fun shiz.

I have it at 2 right now since 5 rounds lets people get steamrolled constantly and they end up ragequitting. The constant scrambling kept things interesting. And this is definitely my favorite game mode!
I played arena_granary.

It was really really fun. :O

I like it a lot.
I dunno, I can see how it could be team based in Scrims and other Srs Bsn, but during pub i think it would be pretty blah.  Plus i hate sitting out when i die.  If i wanted to do that, I'd go play ZM, where I'm at least guaranteed a few kills.  Also, i wish they had used the alpine terrain on a new Push map instead.
Really disappointed with the new game mode.  It's just Sudden Death played constantly and making people sit out through half of it, which really doesn't make any sense to do to me.  I know they are trying to keep it smaller, but TF2 isn't tactical or strategic.  It ruins the whole flow of the game to me.

Now I love the map Lumberyard and I know it'll be no time at all when we'll see a version of it that is designed for the other gametypes since it easily stands out from the others.  Thankfully there is a seperate Area server so I can just stick to the main one.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT TF2 IS. Discovering different tactics or strategies of taking out certain members of certain teams. Especially coming up with strategies FOR YOUR TEAM.
