Savage's back... call a friend

Europe was fucking amazing - I highly suggest everyone goes to everywhere!  I seriously didn't have a bad meal or a bad sightseeing day in all 35 days (ok other than day 2 of Amsterdam which was taken over by a bit too much hash haha)... Just incredible though.

pics are on my fb - and soon on a group shutterfly i think - I'll post that link later if you're interested...

anyway. HOW THE ENGI UPDATE???

Also I started law school last night - and until I get an apt in boston, it takes 10 hours with commute instead of 4.5... so not much tf2 will be happening on class days, but we'll see Smile

missed you all...

'bout damn time ;P  And GL with Law school.  I have a friend who just finished.  It's a pain in the ass, but worth it.
Welcome back! Sounds like you had an awesome trip...

Welcome back dude.
man that eminem song sucked so bad. but that vacation looks pretty sick did you hit sweden?
I set up a wiki and have been making some entries based on the important shit I've learned/read. Anyways this was super helpful at orientation and I figured you might need it. How to brief cases in a nutshell:

Quote:Case Brief
-analytical outline of a case
-prepared for your individual use
-technique will vey according to your own learning & recollection style

Anatomy of a case
-facts
--look for the legally significant facts

-procedural posture (history)
--summary of the procedure by which the case reached the court issuing the decision

-issue
--the legal question that the court answers in the opinion
--there may be more than one

-partie's arguments
--arguments advanced by each party to convince the court to reach its preferred result

-precedent/authority
--the legal principles (precedent, statutes, regulations, etc.) applied to the facts by the court

-reasoning/analysis
--explains how the court applied the legal principles or precedent to the facts of the case

-holding or "rule"
--the court's ruling, couched in terms of its legal significance
--often used to refer to the legal principle or rule resulting from the court's decision

-disposition
--formal result of the case, usually appears at the very end of the case, often in bold, italic, or capital letters
--affirmed, reversed, vacated, remanded, etc.

-separate opinions
--written for various reasons, e.g., to express disagreement or to emphasize a particular point
--dissenting, concurring, specially concurring, concurring in the judgment, etc.

Tips
-skim then read
-be flexible: the brief is for your preparation and reference.
-adapt to fit your learning style (and your professor's teaching style)

Basically every time they make you read a case break it down like that and it should really help when they call on you in class.
nah no Sweden =\ no UK either - so I def have a bit more to do in europe... but it was a pretty good start.  I figure living in boston - i can make it over to uk pretty easy if only for a few days.

Not that it's happening anytime soon, but I think next will probably be asia again.  I went to Thailand like 10 years ago and would love to see china/japan

then again egypt has always really intrigued me, so who knows... guess it depends when and with who this happens.

regardless - yes the song sucked and yes the trip was absolutely fantastic.
