Well the other day I told Caff that I had recently made some really big life changing decisions but didn't go into detail because I wanted to make a post about it when I felt comfortable about talking about it with a bigger community then just my close friends and parents.

Ever since before I was a teenager I would get really strong feelings and urges that I should be a girl and not a guy, and because I always felt that I would get punished at home and at school(aka bullied even more than I already was) I always hid these feelings from everyone.

Well in the end of July and the beginning of August I was in a huge wave of emotions wanting to be female and it was so strong that I just had to tell my mom about it. I wasn't worried about her reaction because as I grew up I learned that my parent don't care what you are as long as you’re a good person inside, but I've never had an easy time with talking to them about my feelings so it took me a long time to muster up the courage to tell her. We talked a little, she got me a number for a support group and I'll hopefully be starting therapy there next week, learning about MTF transition and to understand my feelings better. I told my dad the next week and I think he's still a little shocked, especially now that I'm cross-dressing freely around the house now, but is fully supportive. I actually can't wait for the day that I go someplace, like to my university, as a girl.

I was just wondering what everyone's general feeling about it is. Just to answer this before it's asked is that I do want to eventually want to go through with getting a sex change operation but I don't see that happening for a few years.

O yeah I'm making a blog with my journal entries because I have to write my autobiography and if your interested in my transition and what I'm doing you can check it out.
It's at http://mytransition.wtfwolfwoodbrbu.com/
It's good that you've come to a head with it, but it sucks that you had to toil with it for so long (from how it sounds).

If you come all the way through (and it sounds like you're pretty committed to the plan), let me know how it feels.

Will do. I'm really looking forward to the day that people start referring to me as her all the time.
Wow, I guess you weren't joking about deciding on something big. Kudos to you for being honest with yourself and with your family, and hopefully everything will go smoothly for you.

Curious though...aren't the surgeries and hormone replacements pretty expensive?

Personally I'm not sure I could ever go through with a sex change even if I would feel I am more of a girl than a guy, especially after some "Don't do it" horror story I read online at some point by someone who did have one.

But that's just me and my personality towards things like that, not to mention I don't actually know what it is like to feel that way and being able to do nothing about it :\
Hey, good for you for taking that huge step and talking about it. I'm glad your family seems to be taking it well, because that's the sort of support that so many other people may never get.

I have a few other online friends who are in a similar boat and feel they cannot tell their parents due to the horrible reactions they predict, and so again I'm happy that you're able to get at least that step out of the way. That probably helped take a big load off.

:3
Super kudos, Wolf. It takes some balls(or ovaries!) to work against social convention, but the emotional payoff is already paying dividends, if your blog is any indication. You make me proud to know you, even across the internets, for staying true to yourself.

I really hope it all works out for you mate <3
Takes some real chutzpah to tell your parents about it, congrats.  I'm sorry you've had to deal with it for so long.

Good luck, we will support you in this.
Thanks everyone for your support! ;D

I have heard that the vaginoplasty surgery can cost anywhere between 10k to 25k, of course most insurance companies won't pay for that surgery so you usually have to take out a loan to have it. I don't see me actually getting it done for quite a few years it'll all depend on my financial, job, and relationship situation when I become eligible to have it done. If anything I'll have a bilateral orchiectomy done which is basically taking my testicles out and it's a simple out patient sugery, then later on do the other one.

Hormones I don't think are too bad but I'll find out about that in the next 3 months in my therapy sessions.

Over all I'm really excited for what's going on in my life right now.
Get ready for me to hit on you a lot.

Just kidding.

But seriously, good for you to go ahead and make the decision. That should what a true human being should do. Make that huge leap of faith and have no regrets what so ever.
I'm gonna combine some quotes to say stuff.

Good luck Bro. The future is yours.
P.S. Don't ever start putting this -> "~" after your sentences though. I will punch you. Through the internet.

Just what I was wondering.

If you go to a sleazy doctor, sure.

Just like a chick getting a set of implants. You can get a $2k set of breasts that, well, look like a $2k set of breasts, or you can go to a good doctor and pay $6k and get a $10k looking set of motorboat docks.

Hey Darkchief, it's called a "tilde"

Because it's maddeningly annoying~

and looks like somthing a 10 year old does on Nintendo forums~

or a really annoying blonde that loves pink way too much~

fucking this is annoying me even doing it~

Good on ya. Good luck. Best Wishes.

Fun fact, the Canadian Forces will actually cover the cost of such an operation.

Glad you hear that you have encountered support from your family and friends. Feeling out your identity isn't easy or fun, but it becomes needlessly more difficult when opposed by loved ones.
Best of luck, and don't let the closed minds get you down.
Good luck with all of that it's not gonna be an easy road but if it's what you truly want you should be much happier.

[/quote]Doesn't some other army cover the costs of boob jobs too? I don't think it's the Canadians though, somewhere in Europe maybe.
