Someone challenged me a year and some odd months ago to make an introduction, and I replied, "Cold day in hell," or something to that effect. It's 81 degrees in Southern Louisiana... close enough.
I'm Fail Medic. I used to be around a bit around here a good while back, and after a gigantic hiatus, I return to find this place still going strong. So, excuse me while I return to my comfy spot on the floor .Â
I am called Fail Medic because I adore Team Fortress 2 and I play Medic very often. However, if you see me go Medic 'cause noboby else's a medic, you should also go Medic because your team doesn't have a medic.
I'm 30-some odd years old which puts me in a small upper-echelon of age ranges around here (unless casinos are now allowing bets on Steam cyber cafe tourneys?). Lemme check the "How Old Are You?" thread... ah! Eight as of this post. Not bad!
I've been a mediocre gamer since the days of my trusty Atari 2600 and a beloved Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. I played Zelda on a B&W 13", fell head over heels in love with the SNES's Final Fantasy II, and marveled at the cutting edge graphics of Half Life on my cutting edge Gateway PC. I'm not what you'd call a good gamer, but I think I'm proficient enough to have some fun here and there and my varied tastes help with that. Racing, FPS, RTS, RPGs, flight simulators, puzzle games... I dabble in a little bit of everything. I tried MMOs--had 45 days of my life logged on FF XI (Lv 51 White Mage, where my healing fetish started), and briefly flirted with WOW--but the timesink requirements ultimately made me turn away in disgust .Â
A random connect to a Team Fortress 2 server led me to this place, and I discovered a swell bunch of people that weren't total asshats; they liked to mess around a little and had off-color senses of humor but were 100% serious in rooting a solid, inclusive community. They must be doing something right 'cause, well, look around... I know it'll take me a few days to get back up to speed on all the shenanigans and goings-on.
Away from here, I am a coordinator at a manufacturing plant who's an accidental SQL Server DBA and a terrible, terrible software developer. I lack the personal life of other celebrities around here, but I guess that keeps me out of trouble.Â
And finally, save for random retarded valueless comments, don't look to me for interesting conversation. That ain't my talent. Case in point: What's the first thing I post after a year? "HAY GUYZ SOMETHING DIED UNDER MY HOUSE ;_; " ... Indeed.
Anyway, see ya around. And to the regulars: thanks for the 'welcome backs' . <3
