From the looks of things I thought capcom was going forward in the cannon but I guess I was wrong.  If we assumed from the game story gouken helps or influences ryu to go the "good path" or the zero path (or whatever the game called it) instead now we get an evil ryu form.

I was hoping sometime soon we could see the next evolution of Ryu but I guess I'll have to wait a couple more versions :-\
Fuck the story, the game is now a fucking MUGEN.
I always liked the story ( at least the little story that existed)
It has a story?
Wait, there's a story in street fighter? I always thought it was about people who got together in the street to show each other their super beam moves.

That is, until the Motherfuckin' Dan Hibiki comes around, and teaches them a lesson on the power of friendship, and how to defeat your opponent with the sheer masculine musk of your man scent.
Goddamit Versus Capcom.

Stop trolling!

They add two modifications for old characters so they can please of the Versuses Fanboys and charge more for the inevitable DLC.

What's Next? Fat Dhalsim? Evil Sakura? Mecha Gouki? Angel Ken?

Goddamit
this is for arcade edition, it needs proper bosses, seth isnt a proper boss. now they can fight gouken, akuma, shin akuma, shin gouken, and now oni akuma and evil ryu. Also in SF4 Ryu is using the Satsui No Hadou, he doesn't start drifting towards the pure Hadou until later, which is what he does in SF3. He's using Shinku Hadoken, Denjin Hadoken and Shin Shoryuken in that. He's using the Satsui no Hadou in SF4 because he thinks it will allow him to defeat Akuma.

Also this shits 10x better than MUGEN, Capcom at least tries to balance it by play testing in-house and having location tests, plus with arcade edition they're listening to japanese players who've been playing console as well as other players all over the world, MUGEN character creators certainly don't do that, they make them, release them then call it a day.

[/quote]It means that they're appealing to the market that this version is designed for. The arcade. While waiting for a challenger to show up, you're playing through arcade mode. Vanilla SF4 only has 3 bosses to fight, with 8 regular fights and no bonus stages in that version, and with the inclusion of Oni Akuma and Evil Ryu, it's going to jump up to 6 or 7, depending if they keep Shin Akuma in. No physical appearance difference, just he throws 2 air fireballs without meter and has normal health. then there's also Shin Gouken.

CSW needs to come out to make an alternate case.
