the year is almost over, its time to decide what you thought the best game of 2010 was.

i think my goty would be halo reach or minecraft, ive wasted too much time on both of those.
Damn this is hard... probably going to go with Fallout New Vegas or Metroid Other M. I enjoyed both of those a lot and are some of the only recent games that made me just stop and go "Whoa, this is really really fun what I'm doing".
SC2
I actually tried to put together a top ten list a while ago and only got to 5. This year kinda sucked in terms of releases. And since I didn't get to buy new vegas, my top 5 goes like this

I hope to god I'm missing something, but after going through my steam game list 30 times, I just can not think of anything else.
Mass Effect 2 followed by Just Cause 2 followed by a tie between Super Meat Boy/Mario Galaxy 2. Honorable mentions go to VVVVVV and Shank. It is possible Amnesia should be on this list, but it was never finished due to the crippling fear that set in a third of the way through.
black ops goty all years
New Vegas
Meat Boy / VVVVVV
TF2 - Updates almost make it a whole new game
Deadly Premonition
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Meat Boy
SMRPG: LotSS is gotyay

lol
Deadly Premonition was like the weirdest game I've ever played in a good way
i didnt play NV, but it looked pretty much the same as 3.  how is it better/different?
SMG2. Loved it start to finish.
5: Heavy Rain. I know a lot of people really weren't interested in this movie interactive drama, but I enjoyed it immensely. I liked all of the main characters, and it held a wonderful musical score that went well with the simple theme the game tried to show.

4: Mass Effect 2. I'll probably never get to say this again, but if you want my opinion on Mass Effect 2, you should listen to the podcast we produced on it. (It makes me sound like a Hollywood big shot! Dohohoho!)

3: Bioshock 2. I loved the first game so damn much, and while the sequel is a bit hit-or-miss for many as its villain wasn't half the greatness of Andrew Ryan in the first game, the overall theme of Delta and his relationship with Elanor was heartbreaking in the final scene as you ascend from the depths.

2: Super Meat Boy. FRUSTRATION!  Big Grin

1: New Vegas. The moment I was wandering the Mojave desert in the middle of a sandstorm, being assaulted by shotgun wielding cannibals, and Big Iron played for the first time, I was hooked. Despite the massive bugs that were present in release (or maybe because of them,) it felt like a true successor to the Fallout experience I knew and grew up on.

Edit: Forgot to include an honorable mention, which is Sakura Wars on the PS2, the consoles swan song. It was fun, jumped the shark constantly, and had great characters.
SMG2
Mass Effect 2; They made this game for me I'm convinced. They literally took everything I hated about the first, threw it out the window, and put everything I loved into it. They made ME2 possibly one of my favourite games of all time.
Minecraft?

Ending was way too wishy-washy, I really wanted to kill that woman's daughter...even though she's supposed to be the one you're saving...
I definitely played Minecraft the most but loved Dragon Age the best.
You guys are all small time.
