I have a feeling that AT&T will be losing a boatload of customers once it's released. Only downside is that this is 3g and the 4g wont be released until next year most likely.

But passing on the original iphone I think was a good move on Verizon's part. They were able to stay competitive with their own offerings (blackberry then android). And now they'll be the first to offer an LTE Iphone. Oddly enough, Verizon's stock was down almost a buck today.
More like Verizon is out for the iPhone.
Wasn't Verizon a CDMA network who has just upgraded to HSPA?
I hope this leads to more competition, especially on price/data usage, its really ridiculous.

Start pushing prices on plans down and have everything be unlimited pls

An oligopoly is still preferred to a monopoly
yeah but they can still pretend to seriously compete against each other under an oligopoly :-\
AT&T is going to lose so many customers.
This makes buyin a iPhone slightly more appealing honestly. I have at&t right now, and I wanna get off of them as soon as I can. Just another 5 months til the contract ends.

I retract this. The Verizon iPhone is a reworked design with a CDMA radio. They actually went backwards in tech to make this phone!
So, expect shorter battery life.

On the plus side, they re-engineered the antenna so it's not a travesty. You can actually make calls while holding the phone normally, without a case.

So does that mean slower data speeds or faster data speeds with poor hardware?
data plans are still expensive

Older = slower.
Biggest drawback of the CDMA tech is the fact you can't pull data from the web and make voice calls at the same time.

You do know gtalk/xmpp supports voice right?

Do people actually use iPhones to talk to other people? I thought they were for social status and showing off useless apps.
