It's a lot like City of Heroes except now it's free.

You've got classes (Electricity, Fire, Ice, Darkness, Etc.) and they've got character customization

It's pretty good and now that it's free it's even better

Created a character named Deamos the Blade of Twilight.

Based on Shen from League of Legends.

im assuming he uses dual blades?

This is not bad! Happily made a Grimoire character for hanging back and shooting purple beams out of my hands. I fight crime with my hammer-and-sickle-adorned partner, The Marxman (aka Nitrous).

I'll prolly get it if it's free.  I think I'll make a steam punk character called "The Defenestrator"

is it fun? cuz i've heard incredibly polarized, opposing reviews, so I'd like to hear some more to get a feel for what im getting into

You have access to about half of the classes and most of the cosmetic options for free.  Definitely looks like you can get a lot of playtime without paying shit.

the only major thing you're missing out on is the adventure packs.. they're like optional dungeons (that last several hours in length)

Even then, if you played last Friday, you got one of the Adventure Packs for free. I think that's still going on today too.
