Next months Game Informer will have alot more information about the actual game, but a new site will be going up today I believe along with a teaser video, which will probably not show much of anything lol Slowly but surely we'll be seeing what they are bringing to the series and hopefully on the PC we'll be seeing the kind of scale Battlefield 2 had and maybe more with a really solid engine.

Bad Company 2. And I have a feeling that B3 is trying to be like BC2.
did bad company 2 have jets?

wait, you're comparing battlefield 3 to bad company 2, and not battlefield 2

As long as I can still load my comrades into a chopper, and then drive that chopper directly into the ground at 200mph, I'm good to go.

I think people would burn down DICE's offices if they made B3 like BC2. Trust me, this will be a Battlefield game.

New site is up along with a teaser.  Of course the teaser doesn't show much, but it does show a jet taking out a chopper, so of course we'll be seeing jets.  Can't use jets on maps as small as Bad Company 2 ;D

More Info...

This is it! We are very excited to announce the first details on Battlefield 3 and to kickstart the preorders for the Limited Edition!

Battlefield 3 is the true successor to Battlefield 2. Beyond our signature multiplayer, we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign – all straight out of the box. As for fan favorite features, how does the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC) sound? All this built with our powerful new game engine Frostbite 2, which you'll hear and see a lot of in the months leading up to launch. For the full reveal on Battlefield 3, stay tuned for links to our cover stories hitting the gaming press throughout February, starting with Game Informer right now...

Like you have anybody to play co-op with.
Some more info shows the limited edition comes free with an expansion map pack called "Back to Karkand" which includes 4 BF2 maps, of which that pack will be available for buy a month after the release.

New locations include Paris, New York, and Tehran.  You'll be able to carry fallen friends to a safe area and apparently have a mounted gun that you put on any terrain and there will of course be sea vehicles.

Paying on release for map packs?  Stay classy, Dice.
