Upfront, I'd probably tell folks to pass or rather wait for it to drop down to 20 to 30 bucks.  Singleplayer is only 5 hours long and it ends so abruptly, that it doesn't feel like you've accomplished much, there aren't any other modes, and then multiplayer is mostly just a combination of Battlefield and Call of Duty with a few new ideas brought in.  Not what I was expecting really, so just a headsup.

I guess if anything, the story and setting is good, but the ending has to be the worst sequel bait I've ever seen.  What was some of the more renowned ones with openings for sequels? I think Halo 2 is usually brought up, but this was worst than that I think.  I don't know if they rushed this game out, so they cut the content, figuring to do it as DLC or a sequel, but that is what it feels like to me. Bit of a downer :\
game seems cool

you die pretty quickly, also fuck snipers. in my first game (but fortunately not my second or third) the sniper problem was worse than bc2

......  :o

That's really bad yo, have you played lately?

(If you haven't, it's gotten worse, there's hardly any noobtubes anywhere to be found now, everyone is running around spamming golfballs and using a VSS or SVU)

I'm still repping the Assault, fear my 40mm smokes. (Still not tracking 40mm smoke nade kills btw, fucking dice.)
no i haven't played bc2 in a long time. bc2 might be worse then

also VSS/SVU, wut
This news disappoints me...
Yeah the few games I played last night had tons of snipers, cause it's two hit kills with no recoil or bullet drop.  I'm sure they'll patch it eventually, but I thought after Frontline, they would've had a better idea of how to work up the multiplayer side.

Depending on the map I don't actually mind all the snippers. Smoke grenades for move-up cover coupled with the ability to drop an ammo pack on the smoke and have it reloaded in time to keep a constant smokescreen along your intended path of travel, and snipers never fare will vs Sir Abakan.
Yeah I'm gonna put more time into the game tonight, since I only got up to level 5 last night cause I wanted to get through the short singleplayer and was left very wanting.
i'm like level 17 in MP. now that i'm used to not taking several bullets and living, i own, so this game owns. got 14360 experience in the game i just played alone (ACR with rds mk. 2, grizzled, quickdraw, flak/uav buyables)

fuck snipers on the two hilly maps though
It does end pretty abruptly, but it doesn't really kill my opinion of it. They just left it open for the next chapter. I thought the story and settings were really well done and can't wait for more.
i have no idea what you are saying versus but I agree.

10 gig download w....t......f...
Yes, screw that island mountain map.  It's so broken.  Snipers and choppers dominate it.  There's no cover and your spawned on a mountain, so you have to either take a long time to go down the mountain, or give yourself up to the snipers.

Is there a way to take down choppers? RPG's are pretty useless cause choppers are to agile, vehicles don't have enough angle to usually get choppers, so all that leaves is...the chopper drone or maybe the LMG?  I just usually see them rocking the map cause no one can kill them.

Also this game needs smoke grenades if they are gonna leave snipers so strong and easy to use.

Even with my irks with the game, it's much more entertaining than Call of Duty.

*EDIT*
If they are going to "Leave it open for the next chapter", then they should cut down on the game price if they are basically making an episodic game. I saw that someone had done it in 3 hours. They could've easily included the fight for San Fransisco into this game and have that be the end of the chapter, so that it feels like something was accomplished.  It's not like San Fransisco would be the end of the war.  There are still places held by the GKR in America along with what looks to be most of Eastern Asia.  Lots of fighting to be done if they are looking to make this a franchise.
head shots in this game are way to easy.  need moar recoil.
ACR owns, silencer, ACOG, RDS, all good

i thought i might like the SCAR-L, but it seems half of the time my 2nd burst doesn't come out and i die, so fuck that
Yeah I just switched to the ACR and it's pretty fantastic.  Gonna get Veteran with the M4 for their ACOG and then move onto the ACR full time.  Just got the SCAR, so I haven't tried it yet.

*EDIT*
Man the shotgun attachment blows. If your not at point blank range, it pretty much takes all three rounds to kill someone.  Can't wait till they give the shotgun to people since that at least should be a viable weapon.

i felt i got a decent price for the game simply because i got metro 2033 with it.

also maxon. the weapon to use for chopper take downs is the proximity missile launcher.
Really? I tried it once cause you get it default on a kit at one time if you don't change it, but it didn't seem to be working against it, but at least now I know there is some way to take them down.  I'll have to make an Island kit just for fucking destroying snipers and choppers.  Only once out of a half dozen times have I had a good game on that map.

I would also agree somewhat, if I didn't have Metro 2033 already, so I just gave it to a friend.  But then again, for those that didn't pre-order, they are getting a relatively short singleplayer, even in terms of basic shooters nowadays, with a multiplayer that is entertaining, but really doesn't do anything new or unique compared again to other shooters that have been out since they made their first game, Frontlines.

Not the only one to think it wasn't as good as it could've been, as Amazon and Walmart have already dropped the price down to 42 bucks for the console version, which means that is nearly a 20 dollar drop, and THQ stock has dropped due to the reviews not really being that great either. A shame, since I thought the idea and setting was so promising, but it doesn't quite deliver.
Frontlines was fun
i'm ignoring sp because it's awful and focusing on mp, which owns. shooting down helis is really easy if anyone on your team tries to do it seriously. the rhino AT drone fires lockon missiles at aircraft, and a few proximity launcher shots will take down any aircraft unless you completely suck at predicting a moving object's future position and your shot is not anywhere near the heli.

flying helicopters is my new favorite thing to do after i changed flight control difficulty to Ace from Rookie. now i pull off crazy shit, it owns.

i'm level 51 and have everything unlocked now, here's what i have to say about guns and stuff:

ACR is the best assault rifle and, with ACOG, the best gun in the game for everything except extreme range engagements (fuck you Angel Island). i gave the XM10 a fair chance, even bothered to unlock ACOG for it, and it's a decent gun, but ACR is just better. i wish the Vector wasn't garbage. snipers are OP, and thermal goggles make the M110 the most retarded(ly good) gun in the game. SCAR-H LMG, especially with Steady Aim, is AMAZING at defending from a crouching or prone position. with Steady Aim, you have basically no recoil from a prone position with the SCAR-H LMG.

personal UAV sweep is probably the best purchasable; it's 400BP, and few people run ghost.
Having just unlocked the M16, which is alright, maybe better if I get the ACOG, the ACR is definitely where it is at, though I think I prefer it with the MK3 Red Dot over ACOG.

The aerial drones are pretty useless I think.  The parrot is alright for snapping a few easy points with it's targeting, but the chopper seems mostly useless as they are both just so easy to shoot down, not too mention with the little chopper taking multiple rocket hits to usually kill, even if a direct hit, and by the second or third salvo, it's usually dead.

The ground drones are great as I have one kit that I use that extends the life of the drone so I can usually run it around for a good long time and the Wolverine is pretty accurate.  Haven't had much of a chance to use the Rhino, but I can see how it's handy for anti-vehicles, though I wish it was abit stronger.  A quick blast from a tanks machine gun and it's gone.

About the only time the M110 has a downside, is when your scanning stuff from down below or anything that hits the skyline, cause then the thermal is useless.  Other than that, it has no downside and totally OP.  I think the only way they could fix it is probably to shorten the time between shots on both guns or more recoil.  Tweak the damage to much and they'll just turn useless like they were in Medal of Honor.

For specials, I either go with UAV and White Phosphorus or a ground drone and rocket launcher.  Phosphorus is just so fun and I usually get 2 to 3 kills form it.  5 is my best so far.
