So, I'm due for an upgrade on my phone since I haven't gotten one ever. I'm currently using a really old Razer and it's starting to fall apart (got it in 8th grade). I was wondering what all the cool kids were using these days/what are my best options for a new phone in general.
Any advice is appreciated.
What are you looking for? Do you need/want a smartphone?

I'm kind of just looking for a new phone in general, nothing too fancy. I don't need a smartphone, not sure if I want one. I kind of want to stick to flip phones because they are cool or something.

I AM NOW RESURRECTING THIS THREAD FOR MY OWN USE.

I have Verison, and I think it's time for a smartphone.

So, do I get a Samsung Galaxy, Motorola Droid Razr, or an iPhone?

Until there is an A5 jailbreak, I would avoid the iPhone.

I was also torn between and Razr and the Galaxy Nexus. Both are awesome phones.

The Razr has the extra durability with the shock resistant and splash-proofing.
Try to get a chance to play with both phones, then decide. You won't go wrong with either.
Galaxy SII is pretty much the best phone on the market right now

although Galaxy Nexus might have knocked it off it's perch.

I don't.

So I'm looking for other ways to waste time with a smartphone, such as customization, installing apps, and whatever other things people do with Android phones.
i read the news a lot on my phone
get a nice launcher and some widgets & icon packs. Pimp the shit out of your phone!

I refuse to believe anyone actually calls someone on a smartphone nowadays.

[/quote]I do, on a regular basis.
Install a custom ICS ROM without any motorola crapware first, blur is horrible. The best reason to go with a nexus device is so that you don't get any vendor 'enhancements' and a promise to be upgraded to the newest android very quickly.

Once Cyanogenmod 9 becomes stable and available for the RAZR, I'd recommend that.
