So yeah, toying with putting together a mod for Fallout that will be for all intents and purposes a total conversion (....Well for the most part, I have little skill in 3D Modeling, as well as none for getting them into Fallout)

But do I do the work on Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas? What do you folks think? Once we've decided on a game and I get some work done I'll happily post pre-release versions here for you folks.
Well seeing that New Vegas is basically a slightly improved version of Fallout 3...I'd go with New Vegas?

...I should have probably pointed out that the NV GECK is horribly buggy and FoNV's DLC work differently than Fo3s (Very.. very vaguely) which will cause problems if I try to make DLC attachments.
Well I don't think you can really go wrong either way.  I could easily reinstall FO3 to give this mod a go if it gets put on that instead, which it sounds like that might be easier.

The two biggest problems I've found with the Fallout New Vegas GECK are that it has a tendency to crash and burn any time I edit faces (Which is problematic for NPCs) and lighting doesn't actively update in the NV GECK, which makes it difficult to do lighting.

One thing I should also mention is I plan to make this alter the main quest line so much that the original game is gone. So it means new characters all around.. Possibly radio stations if I can figure that out...
You sure everything is set correctly in the NV SDK?

Cause there's plenty of mods and if they ran into the same problems as you they likely wouldn't exist. Id go with NV for all the engine updates and greater amount of content to play with.

Unless they've changed the download for the FoNV GECK since I downloaded it. It's just an EXE, no attached files. Hell, I had to copy-paste files from the Fo3 GECK to get spell check working
