Well it's hitting about that time where I should be looking at putting together a new PC.  Done about all I can with my current one, so I think I should be looking towards at something to go another couple years.  Especially with games hitting the next leap into quality with stuff like Battlefield 3, it seems to be about time.

So any help on what I should be looking at with my price range and what I can push for, maybe you've done some part looking yourself for one, any help would be nice.

I don't need a monitor as my current one I've had for like 5 or 6 years now is still working gloriously, so that just leaves a budget of maybe around 1k to 1.5k purely for the PC itself. Not sure exactly what I'm looking for...Perhaps Quad-Core, 8gb of RAM, 1tb HDD, and like a 1gb video card? I haven't exactly kept up on the pricing and hardware improvements lately so I'm not sure where to start at, heh.
Battlefield 3 comes out at the end of this year, so I say wait until a bit after summer to build your new computer. AMD will have their new Bulldozer processors out, Intel may have Ivy Bridge out (but those might not come until early 2012, I dunno), AMD will also have their Southern Islands graphics cards out by then and Nvidia will have their Kepler line. And if you don't need to be cutting edge, everything below those will get their priced lopped down a bit.
Yeah I'm not getting the money for this till at least the end of summer, so it'll work out for me then.
I can't wait to see what Intel's answer is to AMD's current 6 cores. Right now I've got a Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition that when combined with Turbo Boost, can crunch just as hard as any i7 non extreme edition, for a full 3rd of the price. I know Intel won't stand for that.
