So I installed windows 7 on my new hard drive. But im running into an odd problem. Whenever I try to install steam, Microsoft office, plus a couple other programs I get two errors 2502 and 2503. It points to errors in microsoft installer regarding permissions. However, all the fixes online that I've found have netted me bupkis.

What do "all the fixes you've found online" encompass?

Can't really throw up useful ideas if we don't know what you've tried.

Have you checked the permissions on the C:\Windows\Installer folder?

Checked the permissions for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer as well?

Are you running the install as an admin?

Have you tried running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility?

Cant install the cleanup utility. I get the same errors
I checked the registry permissions and the permissions aren't right but It's not allowing me to change them.
