I have to agree, and I'm starting to think The PS3 and Wii may be my last console. PC and Steam is where it's at.
So wait. Somehow Sony, despite only having their portable, with ridiculous limitations, got a better grade than Nintendo?

I converted from my N64 and haven't looked back.

What limitations?
Keeping hearing people say Nintendo won this E3. Nintendo didn't really impress me at all. They did a lot of talking about stuff nobody really cares about, talked about some 3DS games, then reviled a new console with an even worse name and had nothing to show on it, pretty much saying "It can do amazing stuff, but we don't have anything to show you." Best part about their conference showing off their 3rd party support, most of which I can just get elsewhere.

Meanwhile Sony showed off their 3DS destroyer which doesn't rely on gimmicky 3D (I really got annoyed at nintendo using the word "3D" like it's some sort of a buzzword) and actually showed some good games and applications of it's tech. I don't really care about getting a 3DS, but I might pickup a PSVita-saw as long as it has a decent battery life.

Also, I need a PS3 [Image: frustrated.GIF]
microsoft: garbage
sony: vita could be ok but i won't get one. darkchief, they're probably selling it at a significant loss
nintendo: wii u-guu looks cool, but odds of picking one up are fair at best.

i want bf3. and mw3.

Wasn't a portion of Sony's talk dedicated to "Look at our 3D TVs"?

If you think 3D is a gimmick they're just as guilty of pushing it, almost more-so if you include movies and TV :/

Their 3D TV at least had a unique/interesting split screen solution, though a 24 inch TV seems kinda silly for that still.

I hope they do a Patapon HD port since they're making one of everything else. I wanna get my pata on with my speakers and a giant TV >_______>
24 inches is about the size of my monitor, i cant imagine having that tv in my living room for a 'gaming' tv

also ensign, because nintendo focused way too much on explaining rather than showing. fine thats great and dandy that its on the floor but guess who isnt on the floor? ME, so show it on stage kthx

A lot of what nintendo did was just talk about their games rather than showing them. Both Microsoft's and Sony's keynotes had live gameplay demonstrations. Nintendo pretty said "new console", then listed off their stock of IPs.

And yeah, Sony spent some time talking about 3D but they didn't use it as the only way to sell a product, more of a "hey if you like 3D, we got that too" deal. In any case, that no-split splitscreen thing was pretty cool.
Nintendo press conference gave me this irrational emotion:

Futurama- Shut up and take my money!

Goddammit Nintendo, you're gonna end my wallet's Steam exclusivity with your exclusives

Meanwhile, Wii has nothing important coming out (except for those games that contain the letter "Zelda")

Good time to Glyde me some Wii games

Worked fine without it. Again, "if you like 3D, we got it, if not, that's cool too."

I still don't get why people are saying nintendo won. They showed a new console with nothing really confirmed about it other than it's going to have a very expensive controller. Only thing that really excited me that's exclusive to something Nintendo was Luigi's Mansion 2 and Kit Icarus, but I'm not about to drop $250 on a handheld for two games (remakes of 64 games don't count).

Meanwhile, Sony shows demonstrations of some of their big titles for the PS3, then turns around and reviles their PS Vita-chamber with actual content. A new Uncharted game, Mod Nation Racer, new Little Big Planet, Streat Fighter X Teken (that's not just a port of SF4) and a diablo/gauntlet style game. This in a handheld that looks about as powerful as the PS3 and marked for the same price as a 3DS.

So remind me. How did Nintendo win again?

Edit:
oh it's darkchief... Nevermind.
"if you like 3D, we got it, if not, that's cool too."

Nintendo
+wii is getting 3 good titles; Kirby wii/New Zelda/Rhythm heaven
+3ds is getting a 8 first party games; includes Luigis mansion 2, Kid Icarus, and 3d mario (I'm counting 64 ports because If you don't count those then you might as well not count sequels)
+DS is getting 2 titles before giving way to 3ds; layton and dragon quest.
+New console is interesting

Sony
What backfire said

Microsoft
lolkinect

I honestly think nintendo won.
Mario Kart>Mod nation
New Mario Bros (2 of them)/New Kirby games > LBP

Excited for both new zelda and uncharted.

As for the ps-vita, the 3ds killer... When psp came out: It is way more powerful than ds. it has analog stick. It plays music. It keeps videos. It's hardware makes the DS shit its pants. Its graphics are just great.
But in the end the DS still kicked the PSP's ass.

Edit: OMG nintendo needs to fucking release that tablet controller as a damned console on its own.
Edit2: HOLY SHIT LoZ IN HD. MY GOD. DO WANT. SO MUCH/
Yeah I'm torn between the PSV and the 3DS.  I think the tech of the PSV is alot better overall, though game wise, there isn't alot I'm excited for, especially since I'm not into fighters, LBP, or Mod Nation Racers which just seemed like a piss poor take on Mario Kart with customization.  I played it once and then returned it.

3DS doesn't seem much more than a DS to me which didn't take off well for me, but it has games like that new Super Mario game, Mega Man Legends 3...Maybe Resident Evil Mercenaries...Ocarina of Time, though I don't count that as a must buy in particular.

I'm giving them both a year to see what they bring as none of them have any good games out early on.

PSP was 250 at launch and DS was 150, which sure helped. DS also only kicked its ass in America, 'cause PSP did pretty well in Japan.

But now that they're the same price I think this'll be an interesting generation for handhelds. I'll probably get both eventually but I'm definitely getting a PSP2 first

Yeah, the launch lineups for both are pretty bad, which seems par for the course these days. Gravity on PSP looks kinda nifty though. And I'll get Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright if that ends up being a 3DS game
Been reading more...

So far, kotaku came when they held the remote, and came some more when they used it... Seeing LoZ in HD looked amazing too... Kotaku is just loving nintendo all over.
