I'll post what happened to me a few weeks ago at Reiki training.
First of all, Reiki is just some kind of alternative healing thing. According to what we were taught, it's learning how to use your body to allow energy from whatever (some folks believe it's God, some believe it's just about anything else) to pass through you and into someone else. It's a bit like meditative healing I guess. It was a day long class to get our certificates for our first level and I've been wanting to do this for years.
When you want to get started you have to take a series of classes, usually one or two days long, from another master. They go over the history of it and the actual skill behind it with you, and then you get to spend a chunk of the day testing it out on your classmates and yourself. The master does some kind of attunement to you as well, and then you're good to go.
Anyway, during the session a bunch of strange things happened. I was in a tiny room with my partner after our first round of lessons. We were practising hand positions and such on each other, and I was on the massage table first. The room was literally only just big enough to hold the massage table, and for us to stand alongside it we had to be pressed against the wall. I had my eyes closed and I could feel her hands on me above the gall bladder area, when suddenly I felt a second pair of hands at the same time on the other side. I jumped a bit because there was literally no way that someone else could have gotten into that room, but I let her finish. I asked her at the end what she was doing or if someone else was there, just to be SURE, and she just shook her head. It wasn't her.
Later we had a second attunement session with the teacher. Basically she took us into another room one by one and we meditated with her, and when it was time to leave she tapped us on the shoulder. She was not allowed to speak during this time. The first time was fine. She placed her hand on my shoulder briefly and I got up. This time however when she was done she put her hand on my shoulder and wouldn't move it. I thought it was weird at first so I didn't open my eyes and didn't get up. After about a full minute like this I opened my eyes and looked over. I could still feel a hand heavily on my shoulder but she was standing completely out of reach over by the door, waiting for me to leave. It stopped when I got up and left.
Lastly we were doing our final practice for the day. We'd learned everything for level 1 and were just doing it on a different partner. This time I was with a much older woman, in her 70's, and once again I was on the table first. This time she was working on my back so I was face down. Once again, we were alone in the room and no one else was around.
She put her hands on the right side of my back, and I could feel that both of her hands were there. But at the same time all along the left side of my back, from the top of my shoulder to my butt, I felt someone poking me. It felt like they were poking me really hard with the tip of a finger, just poke, poke poke poke. I was kind of mad at first because I thought maybe she'd been doing it even though we were told not to experiment with new ideas until we got home. So when I asked her why she did it at the end she shook her head, looked a bit worried. She said she didn't do it, and I think I believe her. She was a really shy 70-something year old. Barely said much of anything all day during our classes, so I doubt she'd be fucking with me.
