Unless you have lots of money.

rumsfald

did you get yours yet?
Parts of it. Still have to work out the electronics and the hot end. I've been updating the wiki with Atom's help with domestic part numbers.

I'm really curious about this too. Maybe a project for next summer.
WHich model are you making anyway, HeK?  Also, assuming it works right and all, mind printing me a set of parts?  I'll pay of course.

That is an SAE Prusa Mendel.
It is by far the cheapest and most simple of the RepRap designs. It differs from the regular Mendel as it uses two Z motors instead of a complex alignment system.
Want. That is all.
3D printers eh?

OK, so I finally got my parts to make the PCB for the Generation 7 electronics.
I finished etching the board and drilling the 350-some holes in it.

What's the operating cost of these things? like how much per average job?
Depends on the amount of plastic required.

Pricing for PLA for me is about $38/kg.
It takes about 1/2 of that to make enough parts for a new printer.

Holy shit, I need this now. Finally a way to get spares of old/delicate/rare pieces, and pieces in colors they don't make.

Now I gotta program that ATmega MPU.
I only spent four hours fucking around with it and my PICKit2 programmer.
Supported processor my ass.

Now to cannibalize some stuff and make a parallel programmer.
Nice, those etched boards look so much better than the previous ones you made. Very clean

Was gonna say fugly cleanup job on the boards, but I forget that not everything in the world is soaked in Ionox after soldering.
