everyone's always talking admiringly about guns so I thought a thread would be in order. Unfortunately I've never even shot a gun but I'm gonna get my dad to take me and shoot his.

He's got a .357 colt python (ungodly expensive because it's discontinued)
a winchester 5.56 (idk the model for this or any of the following)
a golden eagle 7.62
and some .22 rifle

idk anything about guns but I wanna start getting into it. Also it's always interesting to know what exotic or rare guns you guys (crow) have shot.
I don't have any decent pictures but I own:

HK USP Compact in .40S&W
if you want an idea of what it looks like, it was the gun that was in the old Rainbow Six logo.

AR-15
I built it from a stripped lower receiver and a DPMS parts kit. It's mated to a Stag Arms lefty upper

Mosin-Nagant
Owned it for 2 years and I have yet to shoot it

Smith and Wesson 1076
It was a gun originally sold to the FBI after the 1986 Miami Shootout. Mine was originally owned by the Raleigh North Carolina PD. It's chambered in 10mm
No pictures either, but I used to have a Lee Enfield No 1 Mk 3 from 1916. It was reblued and I replaced the rotten stock with a kevlar one.
I gave it to my brother as he hunts and I don't.
Not this model, but one very similar

The only gun I actually own is a Remington Wingmaster 12gauge.  for all the stuff the army lets me play with, just look through the pictures I've posted...

They sell all sort of fake Enfield rifles in the country.  We've got two we're going to mount on the wall of the office.

are you going to buy an ak?
I don't have any pictures but I have a pretty big cannon mounted on each of my shoulders. I don't have to pay a permit but I do have a gym membership.

Would consider buying a .22 pistol or something puny.

I remember my Grandpa had a .357 revolver that I used to shoot it with him. Hurt my wrists like hell from the kick, but I got to be a decent shot with handguns. Shame that didn't transfer over to rifles. I can't shoot worth shit if I have to use one, since I'm a south paw and right eye dominate. Regardless, I had a ton of fun shooting a Vietnam era AR-15. That was pretty cool.

I need to get a handgun again.  :-\

shoot on your dominant side- right handed.  It works better than fighting your cross dominance.

I shot righty my entire life before a drill sergeant took 30 seconds to tell I'm left eye dominant... like REALLY left eye dominant, after a very little bit of practice i was just as good left as right, and now I'm better.

are there any reasons to desire a revolver over a pistol other than aesthetics/collecting/competition rules?

I'm talking about actual mechanics or accuracy.

not really. It's a matter of personal preference. When choosing a handgun, buy one that fits your hand comfortably and one that you can easily control.

Revolvers can't jam.

Also louder, more annoying to reload, smaller shot capacity and eaiser to unintentionally fire.

Also I own a Glock 30, .45 ACP and a Savage .22
