So.. yeah.

It's no secret i've been wanting to go back to the US for a long time now. I've shared my expectations with you for almost 4 years now. This June i was notified i lost my exchange scholarship i was saving because i switched my major. This was a major impact because i was depending on that to go to the US again.

So why am i telling you all this? I think you already guessed by reading the title. I've been saving some money for a car for a couple years. I don't have a job right now (and can't have one because of my Journalism schedule) and my dad told me he wouldn't help me with it because he would have to help all my 4 brothers. So i decided to spend the money on something else. Something like a trip to the US.

My main motivation is to go there again and visit everywhere i couldn't last time i went (Mostly family friendly stuff like Tampa and Miami). I'd love to go there and live the experience to be a 20 something over there (even thought the lifestyles and places are very similar). And my extra motivation is to go there and meet some brb.u bros i've been talking with for 3 years and counting.

So why am i telling you this? I might have money, but just for the ticket, food, transport, but i can't afford hotels. If you would like me to go where you are,  I would need to stay with you for some days. Now, i know not everyone of you can host me, or are even interested (not because they dislike me, but because of the effort/commodity that is to have someone over) and i won't judge if you don't want to, but i know there are some people i know from brb.u who might love to be able to spend some time with me after all these years.

I'm still planning this, but i will do it unless i break a leg or something. I'm very excited and it's the biggest investment i've done on my life. I don't have a ticket yet because i don't know when my winter vacations will start, but it will be between July 15th and August 15th so it can fit with your summer vacations.

So.. that. What do you think? I trust and like you guys enough (at least the old ones :3, sorry newcomers, talk to me more often Big Grin) to propose this.

So.. uhm.. yeah, that.
I live in Austin, you can totally crash on my couch while you journey to wherever.  Let's make this happen.
You have a futon in Omaha (or bed if we go to the lake house)

For large cons, there are:
July 27 - July 29, 2012 in Baltimore, Maryland
http://www.otakon.com/

And you can make it to the last day of Comic Con in San Diego
http://www.comic-con.org/cci/

For smaller cons:
July 27 - July 29, 2012 in Coralville, Iowa
http://animeiowa.com/
August 3 - August 5, 2012 in Orlando, Florida
http://animefestivalorlando.com/
August 10 - August 12, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas
http://www.san-japan.org/

There are a lot of smaller cons scattered around the country but they might not be worth visiting unless you will be within 20 miles or something.
If you come to Boston or NYC area (depends on if I gets a job or not where, and even if I am in Boston and you wind up in NYC I will force my parents to let you crash my bedroom) I will be happy to offer up my home to you.
I'm not sure what my plans are this summer yet but hopefully I will be around Florida or Georgia.
