Fortnite, anyone know anything?

The Trailer
Jesus Christ... another zombie game?
That was pretty much my same reaction

From what I gather it's a zombie game yes but inspired by minecrack, so expect building, one post wonders, and guns...
Could be fun.  Just hope the "inspired by minecraft" is a very loose inspiration.  Not really wanting another game that you don't really accomplish much in and want actual good action lol So maybe it should've been inspired more by Terraria >_>
I'll wait for ingame footage before calling judgement on it. Could be interesting, could be just another zombie game.

I'm pretty sure there's a part in Ekarus' brain that if he doesn't post/talk about/make sure everyone knows about a new zombie game, it causes him intense physical pain.

IT BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNS
Honestly if there is ever a zombie game to come out that involves legit survival, barricading, and creative horror elements like that I'd buy it in a heartbeat

Its funny how we keep getting tons of zombie games but they are just arcade style shootfests instead of being legitimate survival barricading horror type stuff, which is the main sterotype of such a "villian"

With any luck, that'll be Fortnite...

The cartoony artstyle and the likely arcade-like gameplay that'll happen from that (I'm willing to bet) will completely kill any chance of there being legit "survival horror" elements going on IMO

At least it's got barricading it seems. Sadly I fear this'll go the way of Bloody Good Time.

Yeah, wasn't that popular for exactly one day?
Cliff Bleszinski left Epic. I wonder what that means for this.
Nooooo! CliffyB!

I mentioned this in an IRC channel and one dude said "And gaming is saved." and says it every time someone brings up that he left. I wonder how ignorant you have to be to think that Cliffy B leaving the gaming industry temporarily would save gaming. It's always sad to see someone who's been in the industry for so long go, even if its going to be temporary. (He basically said he's taking a long-needed break, probably concentrating on the fact he recently got married)
So there's been quite a bit added since this got posted... people should look.... because it's really coming together now (as more than just a zombie game).

https://www.fortnite.com/

Zombies are still a central theme though.
Hm, I must not have looked at this the first time. Not a big fan of the style though for a zombie game. I prefer that to be a tad more realistic.
It's more the "build and maintain your stronghold" survival style it seems based on the longer video/interview video on their media page. My interpretation was correct but it is NOT persistent world.

It definitely looks neat. Kind of like a "team fortress 2" with some DayZ aspects (a bit of survival and zombies), and then a bit of minecraftiness in there with a bit of fantasy stuff.

Beyond that I can't say more because I'm under NDA... also that's as of today and I can't get logged in so I don't know any more anyway.
I have 2 invites for fortnite...

If you already have an Epic account I need the e-mail address associated with that in order to send an invite (those of you who have downloaded Unreal Engine or Unreal Tournament (4) will already have an Epic account).

Remember that this is still something that's NDA, but ultimately it's stronghold protection in non-persistent worlds.
