Might as well make a thread about this in the proper section, considering how it's kinda deserving of one.
Handset is Droid X with superuser and stock android (yes i know, >using stock)

My experience so far is pretty alright. It doesn't let me access it on my 3G which is annoying as hell and kinda kills the functionality of it, but it's a beta so nbd. It also seems to have issue holding a steady connection but that might just be because I have it working through connectify tether.
Chat is funny. I can see things I type on computer, on phone, but not something I type on my phone, on my computer. Gonna do some more poking around, not too much of a battery drain right now.

EDIT- My 3G issue is rectified by just disconnecting from connectify and letting 3G kick back in. So I guess it's just a startup issue.
I got in, who wants an invite?

I DO.

So I can invite more people.
I'm in the mobile beta too.

I've suggested several times that comp team members should share their phone numbers.
No one really wanted to take me up on this.
Even when I pointed out that most of the chatter, while we wait on offline people, is speculation about where the missing people went.
Just a quick "starting scrim, where r u?" / "out to dinner with fam, find a sub" outside of steam would make the mad scramble so much easier.

But now Steam is on my iPhone so we don't have to worry about it.

gg Valve (srsly)
I am now using this.
No one seems to be getting my messages.
I tried testing it out, it thinks everyone is offline, I can't send any messages. Everything else seems to be working though.
Might gget it when I get a new phone.
i have an invite
Gave this a good field test today. The chat works really well. Even when I had multiple people messaging me it was pretty easy to switch back and forth. Only thing I can't comment on is the battery life, and that's because how long my battery lives for depends on the alignment of the stars and moons.

Every comp team I've played with over the years, this was a requirement.

That was back in the days of only rich people getting cellphones, and everyone was using landlines.

More than once I had to call a teammate in New Hampshire to wake his ass up for Sat morning scrims.

Stupid people are stupid, k0ala, it's a'ight, we know we're awesome.
Anyone spare an invite?

So, it's old, but I see that people on the Steam forum don't know yet: Steam Mobile is now open to everyone! Beta invites are now collectables.
This is my only real complaint about the App right now (connection issue solved after first startup): When I choose to exit the app, it always reopens. Even when I kill it in ATK, it reopens. Which sucks. And I like being connected to it in the background when I have it running. Exiting the app should just stop it totally, until at least there's a choice for end session too.

EDIT: As soon as I bitch about it, it fixes itself. Figures
DOUBLEDIT: It's happening again.
don't use atk
bad

sign out or go into settings and uncheck ongoing service.

Yeah I got the same issue. Ever since the update this morning, it just won't stay closed. Forcing closing it by either the app manager or holding back doesn't work either. On top of that, nothing I do removes my status message of "Online, Mobile", even uninstalling it.
