I feel old.

You see, Bay Area geeks have always had a choice of where to go on Memorial Day Weekend.

If you want your General Sci-Fi con with stormtroopers, wizards, and book signings, you go to BayCon.
If you want tabletop gaming, there are tournaments and competitions from Catan to Magic to Warhammer (F & 40K) at KublaCon.
If you want anime cuties and techno music in your con dances, you go to Fanime.

This lessens the sharing between all these fandoms, so if you go to KublaCon you may sit at a table of people who would be happy to talk about wars through history all weekend. BayCon has a reputation for epic hotel parties, including the Klingon Bar. The people that choose to go to Fanime are the anime fans and ravers who can't get into the over-21 parties at BayCon. After standing in line for 5 hours and getting whooped and hollered at by Fanime volunteers, I feel like an Ojii-san. And this morning my back is sore, so I'm reminded of it all again.

I'll be spending this weekend drinking beer on a boat and riding jet skis around. Suck it nerds  8)
I'll be...at work.  Fuck.
I'm driving home, relaxing for probably a day, working, working some more, then driving all the way back down here in NC so I can do it again next week.
For at0m, to prove it happened.

Quote:SMART CAT EARS
20 CENTIMETERS | If you're not one to wear your heart on your sleeve, now you can at least express yourself with fake ears. The Japanese company Neurowear has developed necomimi, a cat-eared headband that's powered by brain waves. The ears rise when you're excited or concentrating and drop during relaxed states. And if you're concentrating and relaxing at the same time, the ears perk up and wiggle. Scheduled for release at the end of this year, the necomimi cat ears are part of a line of fashion gadgets by Neurowear that are designed to respond to biosensors.

I'll try again tomorrow and submit another pic from the side that has the electrodes.
omg, do you actually own one of those??

I heard about them maybe a year ago and thought they were really neat.
