http://lexingtoncomiccon.com/]Freaking right under my nose,[/url]  I wonder if it'll be worth a damn?  I've lived in Lexington on and off for 3 years now, and I'm finally meeting Drew Curtis.

this Saturday only
damn, I should have really fixed that post right after it happened.  I might have been drunk.

Anyways, it was a first for Lexington.  Main themes for the toy portion of the con (i'm not big on comic books) were Star Wars and GI Joe toys.  It made me incredibly nostalgic when I saw toys I had when I was young, for sale.  I literally had a fortune in GI Joe at one point; now it's a narrative supporting how much family wealth is lost in the divorce, remarriage and death of parents.  I think I have a single box of stuff from my childhood hiding in the utility closet now.  Maybe when I hit the lottery I can start to rebuild a collection of broken memories.  I think back to high school when I used to joke that being raised on GI Joe was America's way of guaranteeing a future generation of soldiers, and looking at my current spot in life, that maybe I wasn't far off the mark.

I thought the Power Rangers were gay when I grew up, I was just old enough to realize they were a complete ripoff of voltron.  So the five members of the cast they had at the Con did not really pique my interest... other than to wonder wtf was going in the Q&A room that the line was blocking my access to a full half of the booths.  (head down, shoulder out, charge FOR GREAT JUSTICE.)Â
