So, this is going to be my big one that I plan on spending a ton of time making and entering into contests for next year.

Plan on making a suit-coat and the matching garments to portray as a businessman, stage performance during a masquerade will be a short 30 second monologue that will be a sales pitch for a contract to the audience.

Alternate pattern suggestions and coloration (particularly for the vest) welcome

Parts:

Suit: http://sewing.patternreview.com/Patterns...Kp8bGf4J8Q
Made from Suede or possibly from normal 'suit' material, there are several I can chose from
Colors: White w/Red Lining, buttons white

Alterations:
- Will be lined internally with Red Satin, in-contrast to the outside being white
- Red Ring on the back matching the character's marking
- Two internal pockets

Vest: http://sewing.patternreview.com/patterns...Kp8hmf4J8Q
Made from Suit Material, probably of a different weave.
Colors: White, I might also make this red, please advise, gold buttons

Collared Shirt: http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8759-pr...age_id=180
Would use the white one depicted
Made From: Cotton/Polyester Blend
Colors: Solid White, Buttons White

Dress Pants: Already have a pattern for these
Made from: Bottom weights
Colors: White, as close to the jacket as possible

Dress Shoes
Purchase Something like this, but cheaper

Gloves - Pattern From scratch
Color: White

Long Scarf - Pattern From scratch
To match the pieces that come out of his ears, either a strip of gold fabric or I might try somehow to make a brass ring float using thin invisible wire

Small Cat Ears - Self pattern, pink craft foam/felt + white suede

Short White Wig - Get from a cosplay supply store, style...not sure if I should make it short and a bit spiky or slick it back

Body Paint / Make Up - To make eyebrows and face white

Eyes - Something like this, a full-eye design that would be red on a darker red

Other Items:
- Briefcase out of wood, paint/texture
- Line case with foam
- Soul Gems / Grief Seeds in the briefcase
- Printed on Nice paper - example contracts, also in case

Now I see why you want to cosplay as that character.

Im going to redo some of the stitches on that oval by hand, mostly near the top, otherwise Im mostly happy with it, some crimping is unavoidable when sewing circles in-line

Are you going to line the insides at all? It would be cool to have some sort of fancy red interior lining.

Yes, I started work on that earlier last night and this morning, same red as the insides of the pockets

For learning I myself would probably go out and buy a cheap pair of jean/pants or use an old pair and unseam all the pieces to see how the big companies make their shapes for that kind of thing.

I really should, but laziness is my downfall.
I might actually have to do this for my planned Leon cosplay though since I can't find good camo pants with the pattern that I want anywhere.
Got close to finishing the dress pants for this only to find they came out to 27"...thankfully the pattern called for me to put in about 3" on pleating on either side of the front, so I'll take 2" out of each side for a comfortable fit...I'll have to recut the waistband but that's not too big of a deal.

Otherwise they fit good...up until I try to zip them up
