I probably only fit the Engineer category at the moment, and for other stuff, I need a list of what means what, like what is an ESF? Tongue And what fulfills the roles being listed?
This would help me choose the right certs etc

Acronyms/Terms I used in my post

ESF - Empire Specific Fighter, the reaver/mosquito/scythe
HEAT - High Explosive Anti Tank, the middle ground lightning cannon with huge splash and moderate armor damage
Gate Crash Sunderer - Sunderer with the certification to break through forcefields

5th or 6th level engineer/medic - Having the higher two cert levels for the medigun or the repair tool

AA - Anti Air
AI- Anti Infantry
AV - Anti Vehicle

Let me know if you have any other questions, it might be worthwhile to watch the 'how to video' it explains a few acronyms
I haven't had time to play for the last week or so, but here is where i am right now.

Air to Ground ESF (with the upgraded AA Lasers_
Lighting Skyguard
Lightning HEAT
Engineer - fully upgraded ammo and repair
MAX (Dual Burster AA)
Magrider - laser laser pew pew

Was going to buy a zepher as well, just haven't yet.

Oh hay totally missed this thread

I mainly play infiltrator, I have him pretty much maxed out to my needs (using Nyx with a 6X scope, I switch to a lower power one if its a biolab or something). Level 4 hacking, level 4 stealth, 2 prox mines and 2 grenade slots. Frequently out of infantry resources due to this Sad I'm holing out spending more certs into him since infil's are super fucking weak cert wise at the moment. I'm sure once they come out with better grendades/cloaks/hacking later on then I'll spend more into him.

Bought a bunch of SC that I plan on redeeming tommorrow (should have about 10800sc total). I'm going to focus next on A2G Scythe, which I was quite good with during the beta, and a Galaxy, which I also am quite good with (sadly gals aren't super needed anymore with how easy it is to just instant action into your squad and such, but its still nice).

And of course a dual burster max, since that is always useful to have on hand Big Grin

So you can probably put me down for all of those (Air2G ESF though I'm decent at dogfighting too I just wont have A2A missiles, Burstermax, Infil, Galaxy). The rest of the SC I have left over I'll likely keep to cosmetics, boosts, and saving for when more stuff in the game comes out.

EDIT: I should also get a squad beacon probably so if I end up being squad lead I can actually provide spawn..

There seems to be a lack of infiltrators listed here - does anyone want to help me out with things to get tomorrow that would make a good infiltrator?
got A to A rockets for scythe

Vehicles: Mag, Sundy with AMS, Ammo, and Blockade.

Classes: HA with both lock on launchers, LA with C4, and Engi with tank mines and lvl 4 repair tool.

Also have level 3 squad leader spawn beacon

And the must have dual burster max

EDIT: D'oh just realized what you meant in the context of this thread.

Basically it depends on what you want to do. Unfortunatly there isn't much to really get for an infil beyond some basic cert upgrades and mines. The nyx is awesome but I only reccomend it if you are already pretty decent with the default semi-auto, since it works just like it but with subtle differences for the better. You also -need- to have at least one sight for it, the laser sights, and the compensator (all of these are 250 certs combined) for it to be really worthwhile. I use a 6X scope with it typically since its long enough range to be good for medium-range sniping, but not too far of a scope to be useless in close range. If I'm in a biolab though I rock with the CSZ 4X scope.

If you want to actually snipe at medium/long ranges and do one hit kills v10 is the only way to go. Though apparently the new bolt action released for vanu is better in some way. I don't like bolt actions because they are only good against targets at range, plus you must hit the head for them to be worth it (aka only good against still targets). But if you plan on only doing support sniping, its a good way to go.

Prox mines are a -must-. Place right they are free kills, every time. They don't have huge splash but they garuntee kill everything that triggers it except for a full health HA with a shield on and max units. And if its in group you might get two kills, but usually just assits from damage and one kill. You'll want to avoid leaving them in grenade spam zones (as nades will set them off prematurely), and you'll want to avoid placing them in spots that are not likely for an enemy to walk on (i.e. randomly in a big room, outside in an open field, etc). They are great for gen defense, doorways, right outside spawn rooms (not on the stairs), etc.

Don't bother with nano armor cloaking. Useless in most situations, but it supposidly can be good if you combine it with a max level nanoweave. Problem is as an infiltrator you really should avoid getting hit at all. You'll want at least level 3 cloak and level 3 hacking. They aren't too expensive to get and they help out a bit.

most important thing to have though is AMS for sundy. Because nothing helps you team more than hacking an enemy sundy terminal then immediatly pulling your own sundy for a spawn. This is what infils are best for, really.
