Have a friend who got it and (still) loves it.
He was a HUGE original fan, the update apparently is great according to him.

been playing it on and off for a bit now - reading reviews the consensus is that this version was made for the purpose of being ported to tablets and mobile.
if you have the legal rights to the original then you'd be better off with applying the fan patches and bringing it into BG2 engine. (most noticable feature missing is being able to go above 1024 resolution)

Wait, they didn't even bother putting in higher resolutions in the Enhanced Edition?Â

Baldur's Gate 2 was a bit easier on the eyes, I think.
