its a 1 to 4 player third person shooter. It starts you around Mercury (the actual planet) and you progress outward into the solar system from there. As far as i can remember most of the names of the bodies around planets are accurate for the moons/satellites orbiting around or close to their respective planets. So if you want to learn a little about astronomy this may be a game for you.
The gameplay is fast and can at times get a little overwhelming with the vast number of enemies the the game tends to throw at you at times. Overall it is pretty solid with the amount of freedom of movement and the many different paths you can take. The game is pretty linear in a get from point A to B and kill anything that gets in your way. And the number of maps is small, maybe around 10. But they tend to be so big that you may play the same map 5 times and never end up taking the same path twice.
Then comes the mmo aspect. Each System (planet and its surrounding satelites) has semiunique drops that can only be found there and dropped by its enemies. Everything in the game can made or bought by playing the game and gathering the materials or doing what most ftp games and just buy it with real money. Though a fair number of things still require you to find items and mods for your weapons and warframe. So you can buy a bunch of good items but they wont be any good unless you put in the time to rank (level) them up so you can mod them with reload speed, elemental, or damage buffs, etc.
Its a solid game and its free i suggest you all play it with 3 of your buddies.
Also if you dont care to read all the above there is this shotgun that you unlock at player rank 4:
HEK IS A GUN
He is also a character
