Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a [FREE TO PLAY] roguelike adventure game. That's been described as "DayZ meets Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode" in my experience this seems to be true on all accounts; survival is incredibly difficult (I've yet to live past day zero) supplies are scarce, and combat is unforgiving. I've personally found powered armor, energy weapons, been attacked by Left 4 Dead style special infected (and uncommon) as well as other types of zombies. I've been attacked by normal wildlife from cougars to wolves, I've seen creatures out horror novels, and things from plant monsters and beyond.
Each world appears to be randomly generated, which keeps things interesting, in the world I've found things like vials of mutagen, cars with gas, giant worms, it's a great game. The system requirements are incredibly low, though it does require a bit of imagination to enjoy.

Some notes you may find helpful:
- The help menu can be accessed at (almost) any time by pressing ? (shift+/ the game DOES use those kinds of button combos)
- The points you're given for stats in character creation are used in all parts of the character creation, this means points for Stats can be used on positive perks, your job, and skills. While negative perks and one job can give you more points to spend.
- In my experience, avoid the city at most any cost until you're a one man army.
- You have two factors when dealing with equipment: Weight and Volume, your initial carry weight is fairly high (Dependant on strength) but your volume is incredibly low. You can increase it by wearing things that "hold" things (Such as purses, trench coats, backpacks, and military vests)
Post your stories and experiences here, the story is half the fun! And remember, Drink lots of Mutigen, play with matches, use explosives in confined spaces, and hug the boomers.
