current generation google phones and tablet are about to be cheap.

soon.... soon.... I will upgrade my phone....
Cmon new Nexus 7
Highlights

Galaxy SIV Google edition for 649

New hangouts unified messenger (no SMS support announced)

google music "spotify" service

Chromebooks for starving children in africa

Lots of new stuff with pictures on G+

Cloud messaging service brings synced notifications to (anything that uses google API?)

New games service to compete with game center on iOS
Ok so far the G+ redesign and the new hangout is gorgeous

If hangout updates to add some sort of SMS functionality for non-smartphones I won't have to use another messaging app again. Android, iOS and desktop video picture and text messaging? If it weren't for the few people that still have flipphones I could get rid of google voice right now.
well shit.

guess I'm going to have to keep waiting for a handset.

Google generally releases new handsets in October. Summer is for other things like the Nexus Q.

You forgot one major key point, Android Studio which, from a programming stand point in general is awesome.
A selective code validation is a feature in this!
By this mean

runningamysqlstatement("SQLSTATEMENTGOESHERE");

You can highlight the bold above and tell Android Studio "this section of code is SQL, validate it as such" and it will even properly interpret and see if you have code errors! Or like XML, or whatever it may be, this is an amazing feature IDE's have needed FOR FUCKING EVER.

Anyway, you can get Android Studio for free right now as well, on the android sdk page (kinda gotta look for the link though.

Also, absolutely gorgeous google maps updates are being implemented soon too. That looks awesome.
