Tasker is a great Android App that will let you set profiles and conditions on your phone, effectively allowing you to automate a huge number of your phone's features.

I just set up a 'bicycling mode' where all of my incoming SMS will be read through my headphones and I can use my headphone media button to unlock my phone while it's in my Backpack, and open up the Voice Recognition software to Make calls, send SMS messages, etc etc. And Tasker recognizes when I plug in my headphones and does it all automatically.

Pretty sweet
I currently have mine set to send a wake on lan to my PC when I've been away from home for a while, silence my phone from 3am to 11am when I'm sleeping, and wake my computer up automatically in the morning.
I was using Tasker to silence my phone for a while, then I realized that it was causing huge battery drain and haven't looked back. Maybe I had a setting wrong somewhere.

I've never been able to get Wake-on-LAN to work properly, but I'll admit I haven't messed with it much in a while. That's a pretty smart move though to have it wake up your PeeCee.

Hmm. So far with my setup I haven't noticed a huge battery drain from it. Sometimes my Wake on LAN doesn't trigger, but I suspect that it's my phone. I'll get home and notice my computer didn't turn on and I check my phone and it still hadn't connected to my home wifi yet.
