So over the past month, i have been having issues with my computer and it turning off. I have went through some basic and more advanced troubleshooting to try and figure out what the problem may be.
So far it has happened at least 4 times. The first time it turned off (i make the point it just turns off like it lost power not shut down) i was playing a game.
Every time after that i usually had only a couple windows open, such as chrome, a windows explorer window, and maybe one other program, like a media player or something.
I have already tried resetting the BIOS, and checked temps, and recently tested the psu with a multimeter, switched power cables and outlets (i highly doubt this because my monitor and speakers dont have power issues at these outlets), none of this has helped.
I am pretty sure this is a hardware problem as it being the only thing that will make the computer power down without warning.
I think it could either be the new ram that i installed, or the psu is dying. I hope its not the mobo or processor.
I want to try a new psu but i dont want to buy one, and find out thats not the problem. The ram im gonna switch back and go from there at this point because it could be bad, but im unsure if that would make the computer turn off unexpectedly.
In my mind it keeps pointing back to the power supply. The computer will power off and then will not power back on for several minutes.
Any ideas or similar experiences that someone can come up with that may help would be most welcome
