Bill Nye Debates Ken Ham - HD

Enjoy!

I've set this as a vote-change-able poll, so if it seems like someone is winning, feel free to change your vote, when the debate is over the poll will be closed and the winner announced.
Tune in tonight to watch a grown man punch a toddler, well, in the metaphorical intellectual sense...
grabbin the popcorn
I voted for Bill Nye just because I want to.  But he can't win against someone who isn't going to use reason or logic.  You can't argue with a crazy person.

But here's to hoping that this bible-banging freak has bouts of introspection and a glimmer of common sense.  The metaphorical seed that the Science Guy can make grow into something beautiful.
Unpopular opinion time

I think this whole debate is poisonous.  It's not an intellectual debate, it's "superiority porn".  No one is tuning in to see what might happen, they are tuning in to watch Nye crush this idiot or to watch Ham valiantly defend himself against the oppressor.  Barring some incredible evidence which no one has seen yet each spectator will get their favorable result regardless of what happens and all that time and effort is effectively wasted.  It's how creationist debates always go and it's only made much worse by how incredibly popular Bill Nye is now.

I'll watch it, but I won't like it.

I do mostly agree with you, and that's going to be true for most debates. People are generally pretty stubborn about changing their minds. But you never know, there might be some people who don't have a firm stance on the issue, who haven't really researched it much, and they could come out of watching this with new knowledge and a modified outlook. It probably won't have much of an impact on public opinion on the whole, but I think civilized discussion is always a good thing.

Now we just have to wait and see if it actually ends up being a civilized discussion or not.

Interesting and probably 100% accurate.  I'm going to find ways to slip this into normal conversation.
I just don't believe that the opinion on social issues that Christianity has brings any meaningful discussion towards the debate topic. What does abortion and marriage have to do with the creation vs evolution discussion? Stop trying to push your ideas into an argument that it doesn't belong into.
I'm watching this and enjoying how much Bill Nye is struggling not to just outright call Ham a moron.

Yup. But I still enjoy hearing Bill talk.
I refuse to watch it. Like Toast said, its nothing but superiority porn and a giant circlejerk.

Pretty much dead on the entire thing...
