The first wheat whiskey I've had, Bernheim Original, was very light and sweet. For sipping out of a tumbler with ice or stones, I prefer bourbon or a smoky scotch for their heartier, more complex flavor. But for sipping a little warm out of a flask on a gallery crawl, the wonderful smoothness, sweetness, and drinkability of this 45% whiskey is delightful.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed on the other head, did not wow me. The flavor is good, and I do enjoy it a lot when I'm drinking it. It's just that at its price point an easier to find bottle of four roses single barrel is far tastier.

Johnnie Walker double black is a smoky whisky with extra smokiness. Pretty much a more flavorful version of normal black label. If you're a big fan of black label I'd highly recommend it.

Fireball is awesome... just sayin'

You drink it neat or with stones and you drink stuff that isnt complete garbage.

My current go to is Basil Haydens

Been enjoying Clyde mays and angel's envy.

Also, Karth I use a solid ice ball. Any mold will work but if you want them solid and not to have any air I have been using this method with great success. I use a little Coleman lunch cooler.

http://www.alcademics.com/2009/12/clear-...ooler.html mine is basicly this but shoving the molds in the water so it ends up part of the brick. Also make sure there are no air bubbles! Last for hour or two.

The water helps tone down and mute the alcohol and let's you focus on the flavor. Also remember when smelling higher strength alcohol for consumption keep your mouth open and breath in as you inhale. http://www.askmen.com/fine_living/wine_d..._dine.html

My go to is Jameson and I'm not too proud to drink Jack Daniels. But if its Acen, just shut up and drink the stuff that I bring in the nondescript bottle with duct tape on the top.

Eh. Starting out I don't think it matters as much what you drink. I picked up a bottle of Glenlivet 12, and it's pretty tough to stomach even with a bit of water. Maybe bourbon would have been an easier approach...

Isn't it kinda something you really have to develop a taste for?

Watering shitty liquor down just makes more shitty liquor to drink.

Maybe I've just never had a whiskey that's "good enough."

Also, here's a guide by AoM http://www.artofmanliness.com/2014/05/01...k-whiskey/
Double Black or bust.

or watever Zaneyard buys in Canada.

Bacardi is awful no matter what drink it is
Had 3 shots of Jameson on the rocks today. Taste is alright, although it has a bite to it until a little bit of ice melts.

Guy at bar told me to try http://www.pbandawesome.com/2013/06/the-...adian.html

In my opinion scotch is almost always lighter and easier to drink than bourbon unless you get a super smoky one. Pretty much any blended whiskey like Jameson is light on flavor and smooth. I prefer bourbon for the taste though. I also prefer my whiskey with ice but some people will turn their noses up at that.

Four Roses was rated in like the top 10 of all whiskeys and it is super cheap in comparison to all other highly rated whiskeys.

haha i just read about that in reference to a dark tower themed resturant
TL;DR Aberlour.

When I'm cheap I do JD green label.

Basil Haden is a good daily bourbon.

Nothing wrong with Jameson Black if I want something sweeter.

JW Blue is over-priced crap.

I've had a good night with Willet, but a later evening it was meh.
