So we had a conversation about the classic space-like shooter called Descent (unrealistic physics stuff but still fun because of pacing). Some people mentioned the Sol game (I can't remember the after the colon) who got a C&D from the Descent original staff for violating their Intellectual properties. This prompted me to look up other alternatives, I found this one called Talon in early access for $15 at the moment:

Looks to be primarily multiplayer for now, but definitely a gameplay similar.
I am tempted....but I also dont like spending dosh on early access stuff  :-\
Looks cool, but yeah, early access.
How about this one?

"This is the closest thing yet to the original descent experience that you're going to find" <-- from the Ars Technica Article

This game is releasing tomorrow.
No Multiplayer though.

But it's procedural generated environments.
That trailer looks really good...but won't it just get C&D'd again? Sad

I don't know this one looks the most promising in terms of providing what Descent did way back when though, especially due to the procedural generation. It'd be like you were playing through each level for the first time every time.
