I did a lazy source if there's any existing Black Mesa Source dedicated threads then oh well.

Anyway, there's this now:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/362890

And why would you buy a mod that's available free? Because it supports the damn developers! (also it's valve endorsed) this is an example of something awesome, being made more awesome by the mod community and that mod community being paid to do it, and they deserve it, if you have not played black mesa source honestly you're an awful person and should feel bad too and therefor are now required to pay for this, it deserves it.

Also from the mod install from some time ago, while it's marked early access it doesn't feel early access to me.

Also they've added Deathmatch to this one... and steam workshop support, so there's another reason to pay for it... that stuff.
I finished this a ways back....did they ever add on Xen and the rest of HL1?
Supposedly Xen is SUPPOSE to be in the Steam release at some point (I don't know if it was added upon this release, but it's planned for 'soon' if it's not in there yet).

Also, they stripped down On-A-Rail due to the buggy-ass-nature of the rail car system in both GoldSrc and Source (Valve never quite fixed it).

You can get third party maps that inject On-A-Rail in though.
Just found a confirmation on PC Gamer; still no Xen... but I do believe it's on a newer version of the Source Engine than it was.
I wonder if Valve is taking a cut from them as well, it is their ip being remade. Though their not like Nintendo and that one fan made Mario 64 level remade in unity, free to play & they were out for blood.
Valve makes 6% of every sale on steam. It's in their policies.  And while yes that's a lot of money if you consider total sales on stream take into consideration a box publisher wants 40%

From the paid mods thread:
(04-25-2015, 09:18 PM)StolenToast link Wrote: [ -> ]What about a game like Black Mesa?  They released their game entirely for free, partly because they wanted to, and partly because it was the only way they could, since the game is literally Half Life.  I remember the game took FOREVER to release, and it became a joke about how it was over two years past the expected release date, and they even made a joke rival project called Balck Meas: Sauce that was going to release first.  I think that team DESERVED to be paid for their efforts, and honestly I would have paid like $5 for Black Mesa.

If they insert Xen, then I WILL pay $20 for Black Mesa again.
They've inserted multiplayer. And many multiplayer games cost $20 anyway.
