Oh god the day this game becomes a drowning simulator is fast approaching
So its been less than 12 hours and the devs already rolled out Patch 179.  holy shit. Probably most important part of the patch:

- Server admins can now adjust the following values:
* The Amount of overall dinos
* The damage & resistance of tamed vs untamed dinos respectively
* The relative weight of each dino species and maximum caps of each dino species per zone
* The speed of taming
* The speed of harvesting and a multiplier for how much resources are earned (overall, not per resource yet)
* The amounts of player and dino stamina draining respectively
* The amounts of player and dino food draining respectively
* The amounts of player water draining
* The speed of player and dino natural health recoveries
* The time of Structure open-demolish on PvE (soon this will be per-structure class, but currently is global)

So yeah.....If we could cut the Large herbivore tame times down, that would be AWESOME (Personally, I dont have 6 fucking hours to sit there and tame a bronto, do you?). also make it so Our Pterodactyls dont die so easily that would be great.  These are some nice QoL changes, but I would say Group vote decides what mongoose can do.
Server updating, will be up shortly.

It's cool and all, but they never post up what the new configuration variables we have access to are, or any additional config files (like is there a bans file? How about an admin list file?) What are these variables? (I know where to find them I'd just like a straight change information with those config variables).
my vote would be to stick with vanilla, tbh

if we have to adjust values they should be tiny changes

Agreed, don't see a point in fucking with stuff too much.
Small changes and if on anything a slight lowering on food/water consumption. Or alternativly maybe adjusting day night time to be longer which may adjust food consumption to be slower?
Sounds cool for all changes and add on.

Oh everyone please note, due to my high rate of dyeing( insert counting gag here). Please if you find my rotting body, please loot like it's going out of style. I rather tribe members take and use what's on me, then it vanishing into nothing. Granted most of the time it will be really basic stuff.
I would say Food consumption rate for players should be lowered.  In the time it took for luin to log on, my full hunger of 110 stooped all the way to the 20s.  Thats rediculous considering I wasn't even cold.
And about 2 hours of taming later

We have a Mammoth,  and I had 3 Stacks of wood when I got back to base
I'll need to make a new home for me and my Dinos.

Thanks Elder, Luin, Zaius, and War for helping me tame this big guy.  Lets keep him alive please so only use when I am on to give permission and make sure you have a Defense party with you (just in case)  This guy took long enough to tame I dont want to have to tame another for  a while.

Patch tonight should have this:
- Major map update: new resources (including summit and underwater Crystals), better visuals, better optimization, and WIP areas completed

Praise Jobu

Basically me as a Spiderman Villain
Tamed a megaladon last night, should be in the bay. Got stuck trying to get it to the pen. I think its not in a deep enough area, but cant really tell till it has a saddle.
Password for my FRONT door is 1111.  Thats is only if you absolutely need to spawn there

Well its gone or dead, so would advise we build a bay wall before we tame any dedicated sea creatures.

I tamed a MEgalodon too today.  It died as soon as a third of it left the water in an underwater cave.  not sure if this is intended or is a bug because holy shit that was annoying.  Insta death for hitting air?  thats BS.  Therefore, I say dedicate time into Sarcos.  less Cementing paste, faster in the water, and still hit like a truck.  Just be sure to raise its health high enough
Also make the Lazarus Potions, they are so good for deep sea diving.  Was able to get 100 Silica pearls by diving right near base.  I'm saving some for my Spino Saddle, but its worth the effort and if we can get some crystal mining runs going, we can have flashlights so the dark depths arent so dark and I can show you where there is an underwater cave I found.  Several oil rocks in there, Crystals, and silica pearls ripe for the taking. PLUS  you can get your oxygen back in them, which is nice.
Layed the foundation for the seawall. There is a storage chest nearby if you want to throw in stone, wood, or thatch. Feel free to make some stone walls and stack them up to the top.

We will be needing a gate as well. I am hoping that it can stack on the wall structure... if not need to rethink middle maybe a foundation then walls.
Bronto Tamed, Another Sarco tamed, base 2 has 2/3 entrances secure.
