First of all, for all those that don't frequent IRC (Why aren't you?), I do still live! Honestly, I've started sucking at keeping up with the forum and should write something to notify me of new posts/replies. Maybe an IRC bot that notifies the channel would be fun. *Wonders if there's an API I could use for that.*

Anyway, for those that don't know yet, SBCrystal and I will be moving to Berlin on 25 September where I'll be starting as a Backend Developer for Zalando.

Both Crystal and I have fallen in love with Berlin, as it has a Bohemian vibe that can't really be described. The city is more vibrant than anywhere else I've ever been. The nightlife is legendary, the people are great and there's a feeling that something weird and awesome can happen around every corner. So, last time we were there, both of us realised that we wouldn't mind living there and as I was already quite fed up with my job I started applying to positions in Berlin and found one quite fast. I consider myself very lucky that I work in a branch where I can say "I want to live in X" and find a job that will relocate me within a few weeks.

So, this is just a small update post for those who know me and for those who don't: GET TO IRC.

*Disappears only to look at writing a forum bot*
Been to Berlin only once, but want to go back desperately. Gotta get some of that local Currywurst
How can the nightlife be more legendary than Amsterdam? Tongue

That being said though congrats, should be a nice change of pace with a lot of interesting opportunities and things to do.

Well, Amsterdam's nightlife has been declawed over the last 10 years while Berlin has kept it going. The city actually feels more free than Amsterdam right now, it reminds me of Amsterdam 10-20 years ago when it comes to how the nightlife feels.

But yeah, the city felt like home when I was there and it's going through a huge tech boom. Also, I just need a big change as my current job has stagnated because of lousy management (and I'm more than a little bitter about it). Now I could look for work in Amsterdam but I need stuff to change massively.
MyBB has a pretty decent API. So should have no problem building a plugin and bot for it.

Someday we'll make you play Crystal Warriors (ask Crystal) and you simply will be defeated.
After a pretty epic trek, we made it to the hotel which will be our home until Friday, after which I'll be moving into my temporary apartment... After that, the search for our own place begins!
How much stuff did you junk in the move or did you try to take (most) everything
Send me Currywurst!
