I think I might have narrowed the problem down to of all things...putting the map in a bz2...
I know it seems really weird, but last night I did another test and most people still crashed, but I found that while the game crashed, the bz2 was still in people's map folders, if they unzipped it, the map would run completely fine. So...what I need tonight is to test the raw BSP download instead of putting it in a bz2.
I also emailed Valve, but I dont have high hopes about them getting back to me. This will double the download size of the map from 15 to 30 megs, but its still a lot less than most custom PL maps are when they are put into BZ2s (Hoodoo is like a 60 meg Bzip).
If this works we can put out a V1, but will have to put in big bright red letters on the download DO NOT PUT INTO A BZ2Â :-\
