I don't know about the rest of you, but I, getting sick at times of the mic spam. Should we continue to have all talk on at all times or just something during FNF/TFT?

Ive gotten a few complains, just wanted to get an opinion and discussion going :o
It all depends on the situation. Alltalk off won't quell the mic spam, it'll just piss off half the people. That's what muting and gagging are for tho, right? If it gets to be a real problem, mute someone.

And if some people get sick of it...they should just say so. Then it can be put to a vote, or just turned off for a while.
Yeah the mic spam just pisses me off now

Vandamguy

i perfer the alltalk on , saves me time trying to type shit talk to the other team
I love alltalk, because I like talking to people.

But the mic spam sucks now.  You should make it a rule not allowing mic spam, maybe having music playing a server side or admin only thing?
I much prefer alltalk over team-only.  It's nice to be able to converse with your enemies.  And if someone's a douchebag and plays music incessantly, either enjoy it or mute them.

100% seconded.
I say leave it on, it's fun like that and I want everyone to hear me yelling "how'd it get burned!" or simply the testosterone yell.  It' just pure gold to respond to someone on the other team that yourself being a spyro is a lie.

Leave it on. RAHHHHHHH
I need it to play Scatman and Power Rangers.

.

Online gaymz are more fun with all the banter. (now if only my mic transmissions weren't so screwed up in TF2)

Voice strategizing is only really needed during cereal play. This wouldn't even be a discussion though, if Valve just gave us a 'team-voice' button...

No, no you don't...
For general day to day I'd say turn all talk off. Enough times I've played where people preferred it that way.

For TNF and FNF however it's better on since it's a more social thing. There's always muting/gagging people who mic spam too much. Personally I could do without most of the music. :p
Yeah, I could use less music, but I really like being able to talk to people on the other team. It's hilarious listening to, say, Kor while I'm trying to backstab him or sap his buildings.

I have people I don't even know on the FL because of this sole fact.

Fucking cunt.
Love you Kor
I like all talk, it makes for a much more social experience. Turn it off during pickups and that's about it. I'm really sick of the mic spam. It seems like everyone wants to play some song that nobody wants to hear or some overplayed sound clip. Every once in a while it's fine, but lately it's just been way too much.

Hence the conundrums, I like smack talk, but I don't like newbie DJs or mic spammers.

A possible solution would be to institute a temp ban policy on spammers and appoint more admins
