Joel and I mess around with TF2 bots.  I use the footage I record to make crappy movies like this that are 3 weeks late.  Suitable names were bestowed upon the bots, but I wanted to keep the HUD off.  Two bots misbehave near the end.  Enjoy?

I have more footage so I will probably make more crappy movies.

Do you make movies?  It'd be nice if you post your faves and own works here.
Oh, due to such-and-such and goings on, this bit was going in the big movie but I'll leave it by itself because my PC got tired of my bs.

Joel: this is the touched up version.  Check out my mad compositing skills.
Cool videos, I <3 you for using that sound byte from ATHF

I want to create THIS THING! sometime...:<
Not bad work guys. ^_^
Tell me a little bit more about the Bots,
are they flexible enough to go along paths?

Look moderately flexible, Bots in CS are generally better but require special scripts to be put on the server to install for path finding. The bots in the video look like they just don't know where to go or what to do. Simply adding the bots isn't going to have them act in a way that would mimic a real player

From what I've played of TF2, most real players act like that anyway.
I can park a bot somewhere and have him shoot oncoming enemies without popping a vein in frustration atleast
"Bot_flipout 3" makes them do the circle jogging.  "Bot_flipout 1" just makes them constantly shoot.  bot_flipout 1 and 3 cannot be combined.

To get the bots to go where you want them to go, you have to use bot_mimic so they walk as you walk (make sure to check out bot_mimic_yaw_offset) or use bot_teleport to get them into proper position by using coordinates you see after using the command getpos.

If you're Blu, don't bot_teleport a Red bot exactly where you're standing.  Move out of the way first.  Otherwise game may crash I think.
For future reference, because I know one or more people were concerned about it the other night...

voice_enable 0 turns the voices off in your head.. even during a demo playback.

I thought I had found commands that would actually record the recorder's voice, but tests failed.
Quick Rant Here:
I extended a version of my Frag Movie, and added an ad for the Dtoid server at the end, I didn't know that the whole regressing from dtoid was really all for April Fools and because I cut off the tail end of the movie after deleting most of the source material from my HD I have to re-capture the last scene and import into FCP and re-compress and then upload again.
Dammit.

This is the Scouts v. "Heavy" debacle on Orange X from one week ago.  Much time was spent on this as I got into a "They Live" brawl with the Source Demo Smoother and perverted CannedPeaches's idea into this ... thing.  Hopefully, the community will feel it's worth watching anyway and worth the night they spent maraudering around as a stacked team o' Scouts and Demomen.

Also, if you think you can't hear "Chocolate Rain" at the end, try harder, turn your sound up, and use your limitless imagination.

P.S. warning: mute sound if you don't like "Sabotage".  I am unapologetic about its selection.
The scouts swarming to the sentry was the best part. Dunno about the soundtrack though.
Totally awesome medic. Send me a full quality of it plz Big Grin
