I keep getting "this game is currently unavailable' errors. So far I've tried...

deleted the steam.dll and clientregistry.blob
deleted everything but my steam.exe and steamapps folders
deleted everything from the tf2 & gmod folders
opting in and out of the Steam client beta
unchecked 'read-only' for the folders
all drivers are up to date
verified files several times
disabled antivirus & firewall (not that they ever gave me problems before)
changed download regions

And nothing at all. TF2 worked fresh on this computer, but now it's not. Same with gmod. halp. Everything else is working. Killing Floor, Payday, Hotline Miami..

Hmm, L4D2 is a totally fresh install and not working though, just tried.
Looks like you did most of these's

Looking on the webs someone else has the same problem, to fix it that had to set the game properties updates to "up to date". by disabling it first then enabling it.
Tried that, nothing.

Anyone else :<?
Game not available error?

Most Ive ever had to do for one of those is restart steam :/
Done that several times and, nothing :V
anyone got any ideas at all? I've got no other ideas outside of reinstalling Windows which I'd rather avoid.

Contact Steam support and tell them what you've done. Sorry if you've already done so, but I didn't see it in the list of things you've tried.
That I haven't done, though I doubt they'd be able to do anything more for me.
Quit Steam.
Open the task mangler (ctrl-shift-esc)
Verify that steam isn't running.
Delete everything in your steam folder except for steamapps (including steam.exe)
Reboot.

Download and run: http://www.steampowered.com/download/SteamInstall.msi
I'll try that in the morning. I deleted the relevant .gcf's as well, and (since it was the problem I had the first time Steam wasn't starting) I moved & renamed the winui one as well.

Here's hoping.

e - and didn't do it :<. Only other options I can think of now are moving things to a different HDD/partition...or reinstalling Windows.
