Why?  There anything in there worth updating for?

i've never had issues updating, but that's usually because i don't really have any sensitive stuff on my comp.

Windows XP with SP2 is much better than original XP.

Securities? I can never get the security patches since my XP isn't legits.

Sure you can. Just don't download the Windows Genuine Advantage Patch as part of the regular windows updates. It's been working for me for years.

Every time I run windows update, the first and only I see is the WGA one. Couldn't ever proceed to the actual updates without getting it.
As many times as I reformat my (EVIL EYE) "baby"... SP3 will be very welcome to inhabit my stack of reinstall discs.

get the WGA patcher tool, you'll never have to worry about it again. i've installed several updates since and whenever i click 'validate my windows' or whatever, it works fine ;D
