Okay I am not really an alcoholic, I'm not even at leagal age. But I am a crazy computer fanatic and I love my games. I'm currently working on improving my coding skills, especcially in C++ as I am pursueing a career in Game Programming. This summer I will be working diligently on my skills and hopefully I'll pop out a game or two, and if there good enough I may even share  :Smile
I live in Barrie, Ontario (That's Canada) and I am currently in highschool, I maintain a 96% grade average and whenever I got any free time I love to play on my PS3, Wii and my pimped out computer (or at least as pimped as I could afford to build).

My name is korkesh and I'm not really an alcoholic.
Ooooo good luck on the Game programming aspirations.  That was my first dream (like so many of us) until I realized how shitty gaming programmers get treated and how hard it is to land a steady gig in it (and I heard recently most gaming programmers need courses in physics these days).

Engineering school for computer programing will turn you into an alcoholic, mark my words

Fixed that for ya.

I LOVE BOOZE!!
Yeah, physics are fucking annoying, especially in 3d.  I learned to "fake" physics in a lot of cases, it's better for games most of the time anyways.

Let's not put his hopes down. GOOD LUCK BUDDEH!

Unless you work in some magical place where coders actually are treated better than the machines they use.

"Hey shipero we want you to create a program that automates all our current business practices. Think you could have that done by the end of the week?"

I'm a programmer, not a magical elf.
I'm a programmer/sysadmin and I want to drink beer NAO!

Yeah but I heard gaming programmers get an even greater "shaft".  I've read a couple of articles in what is now GFW and another PC gaming magazine where programmers talked about how they went back to making business applications since Gaming programming was just getting to them.

This is how I intend to get a job.  Fake physics works well for games, where the perception of balance and physical correctness is more important (i.e. a shotgun will always do more damage in a video game than it should, because the general consensus is that it should blow your fucking head off no matter what.)  But, when you need to simulate a missile defense system, you need Real physics.

Edit:  Hi Kor.

Grats wolfwood, +1
