Be Right Back, Uninstalling

Well, I've been thinking of building my first gaming rig... mostly because I FUCKING HATE THIS DAMN IMAC.  I know some about building computers, but am no where near experienced in the area.  You see, my current iMac has a Core 2 Duo which I love, and can manage to squeeze out some decent graphics in TF2 with an ATI X1600 Mobility.  Still, I'm not really satisfied because I can't even do motion blur or anything fancy. 

Do you think you guys could come up with a list of parts I should buy to build a somewhat good rig, while still keeping the total price reasonable?  And maybe send some extra parts to me as well...

Yea this thread should be the official guide for this, it would be nice to have a one stop place for people to get all their parts ideas.
