I don't go to the movies a whole lot anymore due to the fact that ticket prices have skyrocketed (9.50 with a college ID?) and Hollywood seems to have a track record recently of shitty movies.  When my Mom and sister wanted to go see Sex and the City though I knew I had to save my dad from it.  So I took him to see "The Strangers".

How was it?  Surprisingly it was a pretty good movie.  One of the creepier movies I have seen in a while and thats saying a lot since no one seems to know how to make a decent thriller anymore.  One of the best parts about the movie though?  It's short.  Approximately an hour and 20 minutes long.

Why would that be a good thing?  Because the movie ends when it should.  It doesn't make you look down at your watch and go "How much longer can this go on for?" like most movies these days (I'm looking at you Indiana Jones 4!) but rather it seems like the movie finishes right when it should.

So if you go and see movies these days I would recommend going to see "The Strangers".  It's short so it won't take up your whole evening and it's a pretty good Horror/Thriller movie.

I felt the same way when I went to see Ironman (when will this shit end?). I really like horror/thriller, and I haven't seen a good horror/thriller since I saw Ju-on (The Grudge). I will download The Strangers and see how it is, I am a ridiculously hard grader on movies.

Well good luck to you then.  You should enjoy it.  I don't see anyone not liking the movie unless they really tried to.

It's a shame. A matinée near my college is 5.50 and my hometown matinée is 6.50

Dude where do you live?  When I was 12 movies were $5.50.  Then when I got to high school they were $5.50 with Student ID.  Then my first year of college the price went up to about $7.50 with student ID.  Now its a insane $9.50 with an ID.  So either you live in some backwoods city in the middle of nowhere (no offense) or you have a very generous theater, and for that I envy you.
I wish movies where that cheap here. NYC is about 12 bucks in most theaters if not more. Sad
Yeah I can only imagine paying for anything living in NYC.  Chicago is bad enough...
Ticket prices are why I only use Netflix.

Heh, that's about on par with my little backwards town. :S
I still havent been able to see indy, everytime I go its sold out and there are is a huge list of things I'd rather do than plan my whole day around acquiring a ticket.
