Be Right Back, Uninstalling

Full Version: LOL Hi I'm that source SDK guy

Names Deathkiller, the original Deathkiller (online-gaming-wise, anyway circa 1980s), owner of Deathkiller.com and what-not. I'm currently working on a series of portal maps called "Hetzchase_Nailway" and in my off time I'm usually working on it or playing TF2.

My TF2 skills (as well as TF2 mapping skills) aren't really too great. I'm really more of a single-player experience kind of guy.

The Alpha of Nailway can be found here: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/40710

The current puzzle count is at 56, though the alpha has about... uhh... 15 or so?
Many more puzzles to come working through a non-linear path in a sort-of choose-your-own adventure style of game where small choices can lead to big consequences.

The main goal of my maps is fun as opposed to being too overly challenging, though apparently even some of my simple puzzles will leave people stumped for a few minutes. I feel that people would, in general, prefer something with a lot of quality and psychological stimulation as opposed to some fling-a-thon test of ninja skills.

I apparently have a wiki page too, who knew? http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/...eathkiller

So drop me a line and hollar if you have anything to ask/say or whatever the usual folks say for these greetings... I dunnow...
Welcome to BRB, Uninstalling. We love you.

...

Always good to hear about some Portal maps. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but I haven't really seen much in terms of user created content for Portal. Which is a shame considering the excitement when people found out they could do that.
Sweet, welcome.  I look forward to trying out your stuff.

Also if you could tell me how to create a port of CZ2 to TF2 I will love you forever.  And remember you are dealing with someone with zero experience with anything useful to this endeavor.  Also if you can make it 50 words or less ;D.

Bah! Nothing wrong with eating a baby now and then. Especially a real fresh one with a side order of placenta. Nummers! ^_^

Welcome
Portal maps sounds good.  I view the game as a puzzle game, and would hate anything requiring serious athletics.

What I liked most about Portal gameplay was the times that it reminded me of The Incredible Machine games.
