I have to use my iMac keyboard now since my other one typed "screw you" in the console.

It's gonna be annoying with the missing keys and all.

Any recommendations on a new Keyboard under $40?

Vandamguy

under 40 doesnt let you be very picky , just go to the store and get the cheap shit one , that's all you have the budget for.

decent ones start around 80

Yes he is, there are enough cheap decent keyboards... I have this one and it's fine, might not have all the snazzy features but it's a nice keyboard and has served me well...

Hey, he put up a budget and I gave him something decent within that budget. I would let you know that being a programmer, a good keyboard is essential to me... That cheap keyboard I posted wasn't the best, but for the price it does it job quite well and types very comfortably... I'm looking into a new keyboard myself because I have the money to get it now but the cheap shit has served me a lot better than I expected...
What advantages does an expensive keyboard give?  The super cheap ones still have everything I need.
I think I'll buy one around $40.

It'll be nice, but around my budget at the same time.
The keyboard I got was for around $60. Though I'm not too impressed with it other than how soft the keys are.
save up and buy a nice one.  Mine cost $80 and has been rock solid for 4 years.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboa...7&cl=us,en is what I use... well the version from 5 years ago.  The mouse however did not last as long.
These keyboards are really slick, even though one is only a concept right now. Very expensive, but if I had $2000 laying around I might be tempted to pick one up.
Pshhh all the cool kids use an Optimus Keyboard.  It's totally worth the money :Smile

Holy Jesus. I could buy a flat screen TV with that money.
Keep working on those melee kills. ;D
I thought they started selling limited amounts of the Optimus keyboards...I think they're also out. Tongue
Because an $XXXX keyboard is really necessary.

It probably types like shit anyway for how pricy it is.

I'm sure you can get a decent generic keyboard for $30-40, just don't get your hopes up.
Oh and don't get anything with an F-Lock

Its sort of like num-lock but for the F-keys, having it on/off gives them special functions like launch word, IE, ect.

It is the worst thing ever added to a keyboard, ever
