Blech I hate typing on my iPhone.  :-\

So as the poll suggests, what do you think the best plan of attack is?

Right now, I could probably fix it for under 500$ but its getting to the point where I'd just be buying more time untill something else would break. I'd rather go all in on a nicer and newer system.

I should smite you for suggesting a Mac
Already done. If you wanna game and I mean with any seriously no apple machine will do that for you.

need more details.

what broke?
what parts do you have remaining to incorporate in a new rig?
how much you want to spend?
do you know how to build a computer? (imac suggestion says no)
Yes, I know computers. My currently broke computer was built by myself 3 years ago this summer.
But about the mac: I'm looking at the 3.06ghz dual core +  the 8800GTS iMac. With bootcamp, it's good enough for today's games, and when I could be getting it for free, I think you'd understand why I suggested it.

but it wouldn't really be yours

as in, dad finds your furry porn, or you find his pics of him and your mom.
The thing is, they really don't use computers that much right now anyway. They all have their own laptops.
It technically wouldn't be "mine" but I'd be the only person to use it.

No, but my parents will be more willing to buy something that they like then something that I WANT. Understand?

What? They're overrated, but not bad.

They can't do gaming though. >_>
Get the money from them, buy PC parts, then buy an Apple brand monitor to fool them. Tongue
I sorta fixed it, but only one of my video cards is working. The first card in the SLI setup burnt out or whatever, so I swapped the second slot for the first one. Won't be able to run games in very high settings anymore, but it'll do.
