Thereâs actually quite a bit of information I have relinquished about myself scattered throughout the forums. Iâve decided to pull it all together and make an intro post out of it with added content not available on the Dtoid version. Iâll even reveal the source of my name :o .
My name is Jarod, Iâm 20 years old and I live in Northern Virginia. Iâm a full time student at George Mason University (yes the one that made it into the Final Four of the NCAA basketball tournament three seasons ago) and Iâm working on a BS in IT with a concentration on network administration and security. I also have a part time job at a small non-profit education facility where I am the IT department. Iâve also taken a non stipend internship at a local community college for the summer where I do a bunch of mundane IT stuff like make network cables and ghost computers, but at least I get to play with fairly new computers. Some of my hobbies besides gaming are screwing around in Flash/PS/whatever other image software I can get my hands on, lacrosse (even though I havenât played in three years :'( ), water skiing, Hiadong Gumdo (even though havenât attended a class in three years either), and cooking.
I practically grew up on PC games and Nintendo systems. Iâve been playing computer games (although at the time mostly edutainment) since I was about four or five when my Mom brought home an old i386 from work. Shortly after I also got a SNES for Christmas; Iâve owned every major Nintendo console since (and most of the handhelds too). Up until recently I didnât play a whole lot of FPSs mostly due to the fact that I wasnât (and am still not) very good at them, my favorite genres were mostly RPGs, action platformers, and adventure games. The early FPSs that I did play were Wolfenstein 3D and Star Wars: Dark Forces. High school is really when I started to get into network FPSs, which consisted of cracked Quake and later CS, with friends who would play it on the schoolâs network. Iâve also played Battlefield 2, Star Wars: Battle Front, and Halo for the PC (lolz). Luckily those games were a segue into a couple of my favorite games, Bioshock and Half-Life 2.
Iâve playing on the BRB!U servers since I think the first FNF Caff and Kor hosted on server one. Iâm really glad everybody not lame stuck it out through all the e-drama on Dtoid and weâre all still playing together. Iâd be stuck on the PS3 with less epic lolz (no offense Shipero) if it wasnât for you guys.
Now for the name story I promised you. When I was in elementary school I use to draw a comic, if you could call a sheet of notebook paper filled with crooked frames and doodles a comic, about a super hero named Potato Man. Potato Man was, as the name suggests, a potato with super powers that would go on all sorts of â80âs Justice Leauge-esque adventures. He had a number of nemeses and one them was Evil Cheese. Evil Cheese was my favorite villain out of the bunch and so I guess the name stuck in my subconscious for a while until I was trying to think of a handle to use for CS. Iâve used mostly some variation of Evil Cheese for various forums and websites ever since.
Happy now Rummy?
tl;dr
